Sehwag's form? Is there anything like that at all?!?
by K Chandru on Feb 08, 2007 10:33 AM

I really wonder, what made selectors bring back Sehwag into the present scheme of things? He does not deserve a place at all in the team on his current for. Talking about the past is of no use. His presence in the playing eleven at the cost of an in-form fresh talent will only ruin the youngster's career. This is not the way to treat and nurture any budding and upcoming talent. Sehwag had enough of his chances already. It's time, he's given the axe.

Even Yuvraj seems to be unfit and I beg selectors to choose the 15 who're in-form, fit and whose fitness would last throughout the tour. Let's do away with the Pathans, Sehwags and Munafs please. (Even, Yuvraj too if he's not fully fit). We're not taking them on a jolly picnic. Our nation's pride is at stake. Would my request reach the ears of the selectors at all?????????????

Sehwag is no bigger than the game. If he doesnt feels to come for nets, then dont give a second chance. u need to show some respect for the coach. Atitude can make and break a man.i think he is right way to drop in world cup instead give chance to utttappa playing well.

I agree too. Let Sehwag doesn't rob another in-form youngster's place in the team. I pray, he fails miserably in the matches he gets to play. He doesn't deserve a place on his current form.

Utappa is an unknown comodity. 2 matches against WI in India is not the right kind of benchmark you need to see as a player. Wt happens if he faces some of the finest new ball bowlers Macgrath, Polock, Shane Bond, C.Vas need to be seen. so Giving chance SEHWAG is good which gives the team management a chance to pick him as an alternative Opener if Uttappa fails. Moreoever his spin bolwoing helps in WI as a 5th bowler and adds flexibility to the team.

Yes, i completely aggree with u becoz. WI pitches are normally slow pitches, so sehwag's spin will be useful.

Every player should be aware of that he is playing for the Nation.
by Ramakrishna Panicker on Feb 07, 2007 11:38 AM

Dear Sewag very many times made despair his fans carelessly putting his bat where the ball goes outward. We do not know what is in his mind when he is before the stumps. At least he has to feel that he is a master blaster of a Nation which holds worlds 1/6 population. Accordingly all the players are to be of such feeling. Really it is quite shameful that this highly populated Country have no 15 qualified players to defeat the less populated other country men.

Reconsider Sehwag's selection
by Monan on Feb 07, 2007 04:16 AM  | Hide replies

This guy is not only out of form but also has attitude problem. He even refused to go for net practice when in S.Africa. Let alone talk about his form. He is not athletic any more. Such players can't be role models for our next generations. Board needs to put in a lot of thought process into rest of these matters when selecting the team.

BCCI need to ask why Sewag not going to net practise session, is it problem with him or Greg chappel's attitude? needs to be asked, better do counselling for sewag

Look at the bowlers first
by Nischal Maniar on Feb 07, 2007 02:41 AM

APART FROM AGARKAR AND ZAHEER KHAN...NO OTHER .. FAST BOWLERS HAVE EXPERIENCE OF PLAYING IN A HUGE COMPETITION AS WORLD CUP. SO THESE TWO GUYS SHOULD BE THERE. I ALWAYS FELT VRV SINGH IS A REALLY GOOD BOWLER ...HE BOWLED VERY NICELY IN SOUTH AFRICA BUT HE WAS UNLUCKY TO NOT TO GET WICKETS...IT WAS UNFAIR ON SELECTORS TO DROP HIM BECOZ HE DIDNT GET WICKETS ALTHOUGH HE DIDNT GIVE MANY RUNS.

Sehwags Form
by chanchal dutta on Feb 07, 2007 02:33 AM  | Hide replies

Sehwag is an experienced and a great player. I do not understand how Robbin Uthappa could replace him before World Cup.Viru has a great nack to score runs and take wickets. He is much experienced and will be vital for the world cup team.Vengsarkar has alrready taken right decision to bring back Sourav Gangulee,Zaheer Khan,Irfan Pathan and now Virendra Sehwag. To keep the moral high it is necessry to keep virendra sehawag.Gangulee, sachin or dhoni could easily open and Shewag will be another opner who could easily open at any time. Objective decision is necessary.

Uthappa's 71 of 30 balls and 28 of 17 balls wasn't stitching the ball either. Viru is great and should be part of WI but why belittle good efforts. Viru can definitely serve as an alrounder in middle order while yound Utappa opens the innings. After all right now talks are not on playing eleven it is 15.

First we have to understand, Robin played against weak bowling... so we never know how he is going to perform against great bowling attack especially against Australia and SA. and moroever putting sewag in middle order does not make any sense at all becoz. he scored lot of runs as an opener... better give him another chance in the top position.

Vengi is a fool
by Satyanarayana Maddi on Feb 07, 2007 01:46 AM  | Hide replies

Inclusion of Sehawag shows how fool this
Dilip Vengi is. During his days (when he is out of form) there has been joke on him.
Vengi understands the ball and plays........ In one day matches he takes 49.9 overs to understand and plays perfectly the last ball (propanbly defence).

Sehawag feels bellow his dignity to play in domestic cricket, he thinks what he know is 100% and there is nothing more to learn in Cricket. That is why he is out of form.
We should ditch this Vengi first for proper reforms of Indian cricket.

Well said Satyanarayana! Vengsarkar has systematically introduced farvoritsm in the team letting go the interest of the nation. Why would Vengsarkar care for an Indian win, when he and other selectors are making a big fortune by including JUNK players like Shewag and Pathan.

Hi guys, You are right, but one thing u need to think over..This is not the exact time(World Cup) to give a chance to Ribin to prove himself.
Still he has lot of time after the world cup to prove himself. Now the selectors should think about the experienced players...
I appreciate Mr Vengi, to get back Ganguly,Pathan in to team
I hope Veru also will be join the team soon.
Coming to attitude....
Who is Chappel?
The worst Chappel should be dismissed immeaditely from the "Great Coach" Position.Since he does not know about the indian meantality and attitude, we indians always respect others although they are enemy for us....To be honest we dont need of Foriegn coach ....We have many Great players like Kapil,Srikanth,Gavaskar,Sreenath...And one of most key pesrson "Azharuddin" who played a good responsibility for indian team(we lost this person by match fixing and also jadeja, more over the fixing is nothing that means is obsolutely wrong)..

Hunger required in this case!
by Harinder Toor on Feb 07, 2007 12:25 AM

We will soon find out the level of hunger he has in him to fight this patch.. I am hoping that being dropped from the ODI squad against the WI will do a world of good for him.

I personally feel that the Indian team were a little late while nailing their final team for the WC... they were experiment (good thing) but for a little too long. Thus, it created the level of insecurity and imbalance amongst the team and the team members. This series although a very important outing for all the players will be much more important for sehwag (prove himself), yuvraj (getting back to scoring runs), Irfan (regain the lost form with the ball), Robin (carry on from where he left against the WI although he should NOT turn out to be a slogger and let the his batting skills get over shadowed - I felt he should have played some test matches as well), Harbhajan (maintain the economy and try to pick up some more wickets), Agarkar (better econ rate although he is a wicket taker)...

What do you say?? add more if i have missed any players who will be evaluated during the upcoming series .. i wish the indian team good luck.

Schwag is a junk player
by Mohan Kalyanasundaram on Feb 07, 2007 12:18 AM  | Hide replies

Schewag is a useless player who is time and again finding a place in the team (despite his 2 years of failures!!) because of the highest rated corruption within BCCI and selectors. As long as biased selectors are there, India cannot win the worldcup. They quietly brought back Irfan Pathan. They retained Tendulkar and elevated him. Now they are bringing this inefficient player Schewag. All the opponents in the worldcup have figured out how to get rid of this player in less than 2 overs. Indian selectors still want players like him than truly trying out young talents.

Thanks to Vengsarkar and other selectors, nobody can stop players like Schewag hanging on for ever.

Scoring a few runs on Indian condtions in India is lot different from winning a match outside India.
