by Jayanta Saha on Feb 07, 2007 03:14 PM

Can anyone guide us like first time visitor to the field to watch cricket LIVE? What are the materials we can bring like food pack, waterbottle, binocular, cellphone etc. Some one is saying that waterbottle are banned. I think pet bottle are not allowed. Someone gave the idea , we can't take our cell phones. Pl guide , if u know genuinely. No bawkwas are allowed.

Appeal to the Eden Garden Crowd
by bharat on Feb 07, 2007 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

Dear friends from Kolkata,
Understand that you feel a few more members of the Bengal side ought to be in the Indian side (Ranadeb Bose, Manoj Tewari etc).

Please make sure that everybody in the crowd cheers for India. Try your best not to let that nasty section of crowd repeat what they did in the ODI against South Africa last year.

Thank you. May India win!!!!

Some people get stuck to where they were. They develop a mindset to criticise people of ther area. It is as if all good things happen in their states.
Bombay blast and riots, tandur murder, Nithari Killings, Godra Massacre- all happened to Bengal you mean?

Very nice song

But cricket fever must go on till final match of Word Cup 2007 at West Indies.

Please pray God for dry weather for these 4 ODI's against Sri Lanka

Rain threatens first Sri Lanka ODI
by jaya prasad on Feb 06, 2007 11:35 PM  | Hide replies

The threat of rain looms large on the first one-day international between India and Sri Lanka, with the weatherman forecasting a cloudy sky and downpour on Thursday.

India take on Sri Lanka in a day-night encounter at the Eden Gardens.

"We may expect cloudy weather as well as possibility of rain in some parts of the state," the Regional Meteorological Centre said on Tuesday.

"There had been a series of circulation from west to east at present in the region and the vortex was going over the Gangetic West Bengal as well as sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

"Presence of vortex helps incursion of moisture over the region and consequent development of thunderclouds. This may continue for a couple of days," the forecast added.

Indian team selection funda
by v b on Feb 06, 2007 10:53 PM  | Hide replies

How funny is indian team selection? For about 10-12 matches Sehwag was a failure, but he was given "another chance" one after other. Now he he included for matches against sri lanka. Even in one match he is successful to ge reasonable runs, then immediately he will be declared "back in form". Players "under scanner" were tested in longer version (like Ranji trophy matches) and will be selected for ODIs and that too for world cup !! Players like Anil Kumble are selected because of their "Experience" in the past, but how they are "helpful" for remaining part of the match (such as fielding efforts, batting contribution etc.) Still we are hoping that India will be in semi-final an final.

i completely agree with you.i don't understand y the selector use double stands while selecting players. palyers like VVS laxman, pathan, nehara, zaheer khan were not taken and few of them still not in the probables for world cup even after testing them for long time but sehwag will be the team if he scores in one match what is this. let me make it clear that iam not against sehwag or (some anti sehwag thing here)but what iam consernd here is the team india. let selectors choose from the best player in FORM. instead of goin by there names.

We will take the win or lose in our stride. The only expectation from the team India is to give their 100%. I wish the Indian team all good luck

You have said it! It doesnt really matter even if the Indian team loses...but how it plays is equally important.
