All the Best

I do not want to compare Robin with an Australian, but I have to in this situation.
I thought, India should have a batsman like Mike Hussey. now, I feel Robin is answer for him.
All the very best. you are one of the Indian cricket future.

Mike Hussey and Uthapa are almost same kinda players but the diff is that Hussey is 31 and has a whole lot of cricketing experience than Uthapa.

I dont think C Pujara & Badrinath r that talented.Maybe they cud make it with hard work & application. I think d players of future with real talent r Utthapa,Rohit Sharma&Manoj Tiwary.Mark My words they r going to be big. Also I think Raina is a big talent, but he needs a few years of domestic cricket & tighten up a bit. Comments Plz

I havent seen Manoj tiwary, so cant say about him

From what i hv seen, Rohit sharma and Pujara are proper classical batsmen with great technique

Rohit sharma has a wide array of strokes against both pace and spin(specially leg-spin) and has backed that with good scores at Ranji level

Pujara played in plate group, so cant say about his ability now

Badrinath has been scoring heavily, but i cant say his technique as 100% classical....he has a reasonably classical technique and stance and a good temperament

Now we have a plethora of keepers
by Vivek V on Feb 05, 2007 10:13 PM  | Hide replies

Initially, india had to search for a keeper who could bat but now, we have three(Dhoni, Karthik and Utthappa) looks like our country has a bright future. With players like Badrinath and Cheteshwar Pujara knocking the doors, India is going to emerge as a stronger cricket team...

When Ganguly, Sachin, Kumble and Dravid retire, I guess this will be the line-up( the 4 for the squad)

01. Robin Utthappa
02. Virender Sehwag
03. Yuvraj Singh
04. Dinesh Karthik
05. Subramaniam Badrinath
06. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
07. Irfan Khan Pathan
08. Ajit Agarkar
09. Zaheer Khan
10. Harbhajan Singh
11. Sreesanth
12. Mohd Kaif
13. Cheteshwar Pujara
14. Piyush Chawla
15. L Balaji

I don't think, Kaif can make into one day cricket with only ability, fielding. His batting strike rate is far behind with current new players.

Yuvraj should be the captian..he is more aggresive than any of the players out there.. and dhoni should be WC and WK... This is a goood combination in future

best of luck to robin
by Suman Bhat on Feb 05, 2007 10:03 PM

robin has to take a match at a time and stay in wkt minimu first 15 overs and score good runs. only consistancy in performance can help him to gain seat in team.

Good spirits ! Possibly we have a opener to pair Ganguly
by Raj rai on Feb 05, 2007 09:37 PM

Robin ,if you do and perform what you say then India is behind you and we do hope you have worked hard on your batting.Offcourse the two games he has played have showed some promise as the extra baggage Mr sehwag needs to be dumped in any case so we need some real fire works at the top. Ganguly dada is back in rns and understands very well that the seat in the team is not reserved for anyone and he is performing well. I am sure Ganguly and Robin will click and will be the ideal opening pair.Robin is young and understands the game as good as Veeru but the enthu and to perform for the country holds him mighty ahead of sehwag .I wholly back Robin for the wortld cup opener for Indian Team.

Stop Shooting off ur mouth!!
by Phaedrus Zen on Feb 05, 2007 07:38 PM  | Hide replies

4-5 innings is never sufficient to start shooting off ur mouth ...u gottta have atleast 20 games under ur belt with a couple of centuries and a good half dozen fifties ..then start talking!
Still, hope Robin comes really good ..and solves india's opening blues in one-dayers!
Sehwag is in the dustbin anyway!

857 runs in 7 innings at an average of 122. Century to his name in international cricket, with the limited number of matches played. And two super-explosive knocks (the only way to make it to the World Cup squad), and just 21 years of age - he's doing nothing wrong in ANSWERING the questions put forward by the media.

Dear Friend,

While it is great to see new talent comming through & we all wish Robin good luck, let us not just dump veeru. He has been their and proved his worth. Like us all they are also humans and can loose their edge.

So let's back up the all the players picked up on current form and needs of world cup torunament.

Good luck Team India.

Regards

Subodh
