Overall it is a good move my the Indian Government. But before implementing this ordnance ask BCCI to return the whole amount to NIMBUS. The problem being experienced now may have evaluated earlier before call for a bid by BCCI. KULDIP, Ludhiana

Well the Minister has to understand that if no private player decides to broadcast the feed, DD will have to buy the bid themselves, so at the end it works out to the same thing.
Also, when ESPN and STAR have rights to the ICC, if they decide not to show the matches in order to avoid sharing it with DD, DD in turn will not be able to show the feed themselves. And in that case all of India will be on the loosing end.
I think we need a new I&B Minister who a little more educated then the current one
Govt should be ashamed for whts happening. Its litrally begging the Private cabies to provide the feed or else they will whip the cream off.
Bcci headed by Sharad is to be blamed for minting money from private folks n they selling it DD. i think its made private folks in bad state. This is bad in long run.
Hope somebody dame do the right job now or else we the poor public has to face the music.
Chennai has been this for long time since 4 years....we have been denied lots of good sports in this country n other places sports...y nobody bothered to fight. N now cry fowl, whn supremcourt has given orders for STB.
It is really good decission from Govt Of India to pass the ordinance;because we the Indians felt shamed when a cricket match has been played in India & the PEOPLE COULD NOT WATCH IT..The union cabinet gave its approval to ... the Sports Broadcasting Ordinance, 2007,

Please remember that DD doesn't have the rights to the ICC world Cup and if the private players don't show the matches in India, where will the DD get the feed from?
Y shd somebody take a right for relay by paying millions and give it free of cost to DD. Let the government ask BCCI to repay the money to nimbus and ask DD to cover it.....I guess DD is not fit to do a proper coverage. DD is a typical govt organization which does not want to do any work but reap the benefits......If government wants everybody to view it let them also cover the match and relay it, they shd not get the feed from nimbus and relay.

Why do people like you always take up Class and Caste into issues like sports and sporting events?
There is no point in buying telecast rights for millions..good decission from govt. is all these money bcci getting from these broadcasters coming to roots of cricket..tell me how many of you watch state level cricket matches..no one bothers..only international matches works..promote the root level cricket..n there are scandals in the BCCI..huh
