when team of 16 is selected for the tour with 2 out of form openers like sehwag n karthik. the capt himself is afraid of taking either of them in the first test, n forcing middle order bat like dravid to open; implying that the 2 openers were selected thru some pressure n not for cricketing reasons. the team is jeopardised by these 2 on whom capt has no faith.

This is done to accomodate a middle order batsmen Yuvraj who is yet to find his feet in test cricket. Opening is a specialist job and more so in Australia.
if 7 batsman cant cross 150 n 200 in both the innings, it is no use taking seventh batsman n particularly when the same r like useless yuv n dhoni. if 7 batsman can score 150 then six bat wud nt score less than 140(!).
look at the ausi bolrs generating good pace. as v dont hv genuine pacer, v need one of those ishant or pankaj as fifth bolr merely for using their height to generate bounce from the wkt that may trouble ausi. both having ht. of 6 and half ft.
