One Track Suman Bhat...
by Sudipto Ghosh on Dec 31, 2007 01:11 PM

Dear Suman please learn to accept the fact that even great people go through bad patches. Dravid is a world class player and perhaps technically the best at the present time. But you have to accept the fact that he IS going through a bad patch in his career!! And that does NOT mean that Dravid is not one of the best batsmen India has ever had.
Knowing how good he is he will soon recover from the slump in his form.

Sudhindu Aussies are not fools.
If they plot Ganguly failure.
Then they will loose benefits of gifted run outs.
Runs gifted by relax fielding 10-20 extra runs gift. Then dropped catches.
also if somebody better runner between wickets is chosen then 20-30 runs extra will go to opponents.
Who wlii loose these benefits by plotting Ganguly out.

Why bother ??
by Shake Abdullah on Dec 31, 2007 10:25 AM

Stat wizards of Rediff, why the hell are you bothered if Dravid drops to 14th or 15th ? Or if Sachin drops to 17th. Stop publishing such nonsense. Stop giving so much space for these records & statistics.

You can try mentioning them if they manage to reach top 1 or 2 positions.

Help our people to come out of this craziness. Help people to watch this game as it is ... just as a game.

Dravid a real shame !!
by amitabh on Dec 31, 2007 03:46 AM  | Hide replies

Enough of past laurels !! we need consistent performers not cowards who will submit themselves to the opponents. What Dravid did was cowardice.

He is not wall of India but fall of India.

master blaster did not blast tiger did not roar .. coming in middle order and making merry of batting of old ball ?
dravid spent more time and consumed more balls atleast in second inning he was there for full session more than 2 and half hours but other 8 wkt fell in less than one session in 35 overs??
ganguly and tendulkar are afraid to open innings and face lee, johnson with new ball
even ganguly tendulkar fialed after playing in regular slot,
ganguly is not tiger or sachin is not masterblaster anymore..cheap politicians

Dravid the split wall
by jayachandranravi on Dec 30, 2007 11:08 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid was expected to have unstable paranoia and fear psychosis because of those contemporary players who were more talented than him. Otherwise no normal person would break up a well built team India. Now it is proved that he has problem in his mind and must be sent for rehabilitation. Indian team is not an asylum for practice. He must yield to better players like Sewag or Karthik.

no other player came forward to opening to accomodate yuvi. And dravid being out of form asked to open batting that shows value of dravid in ind team.Dravid only batsman in ind team batted from No 1 to 7 in odis and test. Even master did not blast and tiger did not roar. master blaster wanted to open innings in odis and ganguly complained tha the missed many 100s in test batting up in order. but in test batted on regular slot still failed to perform.
afraid to face lee johnson cleark with new ball with morning dies
but in odis opening means batting is with field restriction no pressuer of increasing runrate and enoubh balls to face...
dravid accepted challenged and opening innings knowing that vengsarkar has an agenda against him.
in test at least he stayed at wkt and for 2 hrs and played till 35 over in second innings other 8 wkts fell in less than 35 overs within session of lunch to tea. dravid survived at least on session.
dravid was shufflled in batting order in odis before he was dropped..this did not happened to any other senior player.
let tendulkar and ganguly open in test and make them bat in diff positions in five odisagainst aussies Why dravid has to face descrimination in batting order and made scpeagoat? If ganguly and tendulkar wants to open in odis why not in tests
what about failure of jaffer, l dhoni yuvraj and harbajan wktless????

It was collective batting failure why r u blaming dravid only

@ Suman

Dravid has been a failure for long. Not just for one test he is getting teared apart. He should be kicked out of the team at least for a year if he fails in the next test.

Despite not in form, accepting to open innings against lee and Johnson and battling for nearly 35 overs is cowardice. On the contrary hiding against lee and johnson and then getting out against brad hogg is a great bravery.
