I do agree with Suman, though. I don't understand why Dravid is being pilloried by all and sundry when, batting out of his position, woefully out of form, and lacking the iron grit of Ganguly, he did survive at the wicket for the longest period of time of all the Indians. This he did, simply because he is the best batsman India has - period. There is no one person - they are all to blame, some more, some less. They should just either come back, and stick to the basics of cricket. Grame Pollock once said - "Cricket is a simple game - see ball, hit ball.Why make it more complicated ? " Place the balls away from the fielders - its a simple theory, really. If they can't execute this, maybe the team should come back - right ?
why dravid should always be a sacrificial lamb...if sachin is the best indian batsman then he should be made to open...sachin will never open in test becoz he cant...now dravid should be adamant that he will not open,let us see who will open...it is to speak than to open against aus in aus

sachin will never open against aussies,s.africa,& a pakistan having shoaib akhtar, because these sides have bowlers of extra pace. he will immediately agree to open against b'desh,zimbabwe etc, against them he can score 100.dravid & greg chappell became sachin's enemies when in the match against bermuda in world cup 2007,sachin was not sent as opener, infact he was sent to bat after yuvraj & dhoni, & thus was robbed of an easy century.it was that day when dravid & chappell sealed their respective fates . he is the most selfish cricketer who has worn the india cap, always manipulating thru his sycophants ravi shastri& harsha bhogle, against the current high ranking indian players.he never has played an innings in the 4th innings to save the side or win matches. the way he got out in the 2nd innings of the melbourne test shows his attitude. he plays for his own records,whatever he may say that he is a team man, it is a blatant lie, otherwise he would not have taken up a fight with dravid(captain) and wright(coach)after the former declared india's innings in the 1st test against the pakis in multan 2004,with sachin batting on 194. if he is a team man he should have taken the declaration sportingly, as the team's victory is more precious than individual records. it is high time he is exposed and dropped for the betterment of indian cricket.
Probably India should try Karthik for a test match as he can open the innings and keep wickets too. Another bowler should be used in place of Dhoni. May be Ishant Sharma or Pankaj. I mean wats the point in bringing players and not playing them? They are here cuz they deserve to be in the team.. They have won their places by playing good Cricket. So If India needs a good pacer to demolish aussie openers .. they must play the pacers they have brought in....otherwise just don't pick 'em in the team...This Aint an Aussie Safari or an australian vacation for 'em. .they're here to play cricket and win matches... Sowatever resources India has got they must be used ... cuz no matter what anyone says.... Getting rid of the opening pair cheaply does make a lot of diffrance in any team's winning cause. So I think Indian team should select the team accordingly. Dhoni, Dravid,Laxman,Sehwag,Sachin or anyone..they will remain stars. But the team should be picked according to the requirement of the playing conditions and the opponent's strength. Cuz the bottomline is that they are here to win.... Not the stars bettering their records in australia. India should try and make changes in the next game ..cuz watever is happening is just not right at the moment......
v need one genuine fast bolr. if not available, v hv to take one of those young guys like ishant or pankaj who r having 6 n 1/2 ft height. either of them can b tried. they hv the potential to perform on ausi pitches to generate good bounce using their height. they can b accomodated by dropping any of the useless batsmen like yuv and dhoni.
if 7 batsman cant score 150 runs then its no use of seventh batsman. v need to take 20 wkts also.n ishant/pankaj may b tried as 5th bolr.
Alas, when will we learn?We dropped Dravid and started winning ODIs. Even after disaapointing performance from Dravid,why are we retaining him?and dropping Dinesh Kartik who has consistently (barring Pak tour) opened well. Mr.Kumble, show that you are a team man and drop Dravid. Probably we need to play Irfan Pathan too as Aussies are susceptible to swinging ball. Pathan can contribute with bat too....we need to play 5 bowlers.
Dhoni better do ads only. Dravid can bring water for the players... Mr Dravid, As you sow so you reap.......... The games you played to oust Ganguly has backfired...... Now you dont have time to even make a comeback... Pls Pls retire ...I wouldnt even say gracefully as times run out.......

kumble wake up and don't shuffle the order....throuh YUVI out of the team and keep Dravid in middle order. When Ganguly and Sachin gets so many chances, why not Dravid.

a man, dravid is require but that junky yuvi need to drop he can play only 20-20 and test match on ruddy pitch, he has no class to play bowler friendly wick, if you see his full career he always play 1 magic inin after 10-12 match (odi) only in last 20-20 w.cup he has done something great but check eng tour totaly failed, agaist aus only 1 hund but that also useless, now see in current match,

Even master did not blast and tiger did not roar. master blaster wanted to open innings in odis and ganguly complained tha the missed many 100s in test batting up in order. but in test batted on regular slot still failed to perform. afraid to face lee johnson cleark with new ball with morning dies but in odis opening means batting is with field restriction no pressuer of increasing runrate and enoubh balls to face... dravid accepted challenged and opening innings knowing that vengsarkar has an agenda against him. in test at least he stayed at wkt and for 2 hrs and played till 35 over in second innings other 8 wkts fell in less than 35 overs within session of lunch to tea. dravid survived at least on session. dravid was shufflled in batting order in odis before he was dropped..this did not happened to any other senior player. let tendulkar and ganguly open in test and make them bat in diff positions in five odisagainst aussies Why dravid has to face descrimination in batting order and made scpeagoat?If ganguly and tendulkar wants to open in odis why not in tests what about failure of jaffer, l dhoni yuvraj and harbajan wktless????

In 1st inning sachin lost his wicket when india developed a good partnership ...... his wicket was crucial ...... after his wicket yuvraj, dhoni didnt do any miracles n got out quickly... n ganguly cant fight wit tailenders ...if sachin wld hv survived then india could hv taken lead in 1st innings coz ganguly was playing well in both the innings ..... but he cant win matches with help of tailendes....some 1 shld support him.... n tht dravid is of no use he shld be sacked out of domestic cricket also..... yuvraj can only play in india n against weaker opponents ... dhoni shld only do adds...coz he does tht well instead of playing cricket.... i agree that sachin is useless player and if he is not thrown out of the team now our 2011 world cup will also go in vain like others. one interesting thing happend in 20-20 world cup that INDIA was playing without sachin and we won the world cup.
its not that sachin is too bad. He is not as good as he was before 2003. I think we should give veteran retirement. He is such a great great player that with lots of records that he shouldn't play anymore and we should have his body in meuseum with his records to show his wow wonderful records.........
On the second day sachin made a statement "match abhi khatam nahi hua Dost there are still 3 days to go...... I was trying to puzzle out his comment on the end of 4th day.... but couldn't get any.... Is there anyone fr my help...?

dravid is better than sachin in my opinion , and he needs to be given his space, sachin just scores against easy oppositions and piles up centuries, unlike dravid who like a faithful workhorse scores against all oppositions at any damn position and does it ever so often , i am a staunch supporter of rahul dravid , he needs to be in the team , we need strong willed people like saurav and rahul not sleeping geniuses like sachin

yep... and aussies are por side... The problem is we always except Sachin to win the mtch...We have very high expectations from the little man...and so he seems to fail... We have no expectations from Wall and occasionally when he fires we praise him...

agreed. even sourav was forcibly retired by gr8 chappal n kiran more but bounced back n showed his worth. dravid was the only reliable bat for the overseas tour until now. dravid is not like useless yuv or dhoni - king of dead pitches.

Dravid failed in SA series. Dravid failed in ENG series. Dravid failed in PAK series. Dravid will fail in AUS series.
Still you guys want him to be in the test team. Vengi was right to drop him from ODI team, but you guys abused that honest man..which I didnt like at all. Yuvi and Dhoni, are never a test player, they are good for 20-20 and ODi and gully dnada cricket.. Test player needs technique and determination, which is lacked to both of them. I would like to include Sehwag . Dinesh kartcik in place of Dhoni and Over Hyped yuvi.
For Dravid, he has got technique and detrmination, but at present his form his very poor. Let him play some domestic cricket for a season and then join test team only..

But if in domestic cricket, dravid scores century against HIMACHAL PRADESH RANJI team LED by SHILPA SHETTY, then his century will not be counted in including him into test team.. Last time he scored a double century agsnt a minnow ranji team led by Mrs Shilpa Shetty, his fans put tremendous pressure on Colonel to include him into ODI..But Colonel is reall briliant, knows what to do.
