ENDULKAR
by greg chappel on Dec 29, 2007 08:33 AM  | Hide replies

Guys you all can argue as much as you can, but ENDULKAR will not get place in my list. he plays for himself, you can not rely on him, he is the first innings batsman, never plays in 2nd innings and in crucial situation.

Dravid: 16 off 114 balls SR: 14.03 Wow!
by Arv Singh on Dec 29, 2007 07:58 AM  | Hide replies

He has done it again! Last inning he scored 5 runs in 66 balls, What is this guy up to? Is this how matches are won? He is either scared shit, completely out of form, or playing against the interest of the team. Either way, he should be warming the bench in the next match. Other player who is out of form is Harbhajan. He should also give way to Murli Kartik in the next game.

Form is temporary class is permanent,if Endulkar can be given a chance for so long for the extended form slump he had and was retained even after WCUP debacle, why not Dravid?
Also remember, how much Cricket have u played to comment on Dravid,he has scored over 20000 International runs?Remember this defense of Endulkar fans, apply that to Dravid WALL...

Ha, ha ... it the same Endulkar who have averaged 44 in ODI's even in 2006, his bad year. It's the same Endulkar who have averaged 44 in Tests during 2005, the year he got bogged down by Tennis elbow problem. and it's the same Endulkar who have scored more than 1400 runs in ODI's this year. BY THE WAY, IT'S THE SAME ENDULKAR WHO IS RATED AS THE GREATEST BASTMAN OF HIS ERA BY SIR DONALD BRADMAN. You are some one who won't make a news even if you die, whereas Sir Donald Bradman's words will always reamin immortal in the cricket world.

TENDULKAR TOPS SHANE WARNE'S LIST OF GREATEST CRICKETERS

Sachin Tendulkar topped Shane Warne's countdown of greatest cricketers edging out Brian Lara, who was placed second. Curtly Ambrose, Allan Border and Glenn McGrath rounded out the top five in Warne's Times column.

Warne rated Tendulkar ahead of Lara on account of his mental toughness and hailed him as a "great player and a great man". He wrote, "Outside grounds [in India], people wait until he [Tendulkar] goes in before paying to enter. They seem to want a wicket to fall even though it is their own side that will suffer ... He [Tendulkar] grew up under incredible weight of expectation and never buckled once - not under poor umpiring decisions or anything else."

BRADMAN NEVER MISSED A TENDLKAR INNINGS IN THE LAST 5 YEARS

Sir Donald Bradman was first impressed by Sachin Tendulkar while watching a one-day game against Australia in the 1996 World Cup and never missed a chance to see an innings from the Indian maestro after that, the book 'Bradman's Best' reveals.

"He was most taken in by Tendulkar's technique, compactness and his shot production and had asked his wife to have a look at the Indian as he felt that Tendulkar played like he had. Jessie agreed that they appeared similar.

"Bradman never missed a chance to see Tendulkar from then until the end of the 1999 three-match Test series in Australia," the book says.

"Bradman ranked Brian Lara and Tendulkar as the best batsmen in the world and found it difficult to judge who was better. He thought that Tendulkar had a very sound defence while Lara was marginally more aggressive and took more risks.

"By 2000, he held the view that they were the best in world cricket, but that Tendulkar just pipped Lara as the world's number one," it says.

1st thing -> Why do u bring up Tendulkar here ?
2ns thing -> Dravid is not playing well ..just accept it and stop using Siddu's phrases like "Form is temporary class is permanent"
They should kick out everybody who does not do well.

jaffer's 2 innings gone, 3 more tests 6 innngs -- definitely he plays only one big inning out of it,,,
but still no body want him to throw out,, no exports comments against him and
selectors are scared of him.

Moreover he plays on low and slow wickets. He got out to a no-ball but did not learn anything and again poked at a harmless delivery. Atleast Sehwag is better, he scores few runs and takes the attack to the opposition, instead of tamely surrendering. The way Indians are playing (they have not learnt anything from the 1st innings). All the ex-players in the commentary (Channel 9 and Star Cricket) say that the only way to succeed in Australia is to play your natural game and rotate the strike. Dravid is playing as if he is in the nets and Laxman is doing the same thing. They will play like this for 1 to 2 hours and then get out to "good" ball.

Dravid is no leader
by Jay Veeru on Dec 29, 2007 05:18 AM  | Hide replies

Someone has o start scoring so that he follows and start making some runs, otherwise he will keep on defending and ultimately go out for 10 runs in 100 balls.

You are right. There is no point in playing so defensively as they cannot bat like this for 2 days. It is better to play the strokes and atleast try for singles and twos. If today was the last day then we can expect this type of batting but not when there 2 days left.

They will not be able to block like this for 2 days and will get out ultimately. Atleast attack now and get as many runs as possible as this will have possitive impact in the 2nd test starting within 3 days.

Pressure
by hyderabadi on Dec 29, 2007 04:53 AM

Dont loose any wickets and Aussies will automatically come under pressure. Its going to be a shame if we loose this game with Dravid, Ganguly, Yuvraj, Dhoni and the second greatest batsman since Bradman in our batting line up.

Opportunity
by hyderabadi on Dec 29, 2007 04:48 AM

This is an excellent opportunity for Inida. 493 in 2 days is a very easy task if they keep wickets in hand. Indians shouldnt look at the score, just concentrate on not loosing wickets and as long as they score 3 runs an over they will win.
Declaring before 2 days - we will find out tomorrow if this is a mistake or good excellent captaincy by Ponting.

Indian team has the weapons - need to show the will to chase!
by Talisman on Dec 29, 2007 04:40 AM  | Hide replies

This indian team has the batting lineup that includes Yuvaraj and Dhoni and has the experience to bat and get that score.

Hope they have watched Sangakara's innings chasing a 400 plus total.

The first goal is to get to 100 with a loss of perhaps one wicket. Then look for yuvi to bat at 1-drop and take about 60 plus runs out of the total. Now that runs needed is 250 odd. Let Lakshman, Tendu to take her home with Gang and Dhoni able there to back up, just in case.

If India reaches 100 for one, look for the aussie attack to wilt. I hope that Dravid and JAffer bring the fight today.
