While I see the merit in some people worshipping one cricketer as a hero,God etc;I cannot see why they shd do so running down some other cricketer in awful terms.This makes their eulogy itself sound bad even if there is some truth in that. Dada is a fighter and elegant batsman but this does not mean Dravid is to be dubbed a bad ODI player.In fact the best of Dravid in ODI's came in ODI's played against Pak,Aus and SL in India prior to the recent series.Likewise Dravid supporters run down Ganguly in horrible terms like he chickened out ,cannot play pace etc.Both are vituperative but spicy. Now the need is for Both Ganguly and Dravid to fire.If Dravid does not handle the new ball Ganguly and the rest will be in trouble.If Dravid gives a good start and Ganguly,Laxman build on it we can match Aus.Only then!So I suggest that Dada verss Dravid exchanges be buried in this series as it is not heroics but a team effort which can see us thru a gruelling test

Ao long as Ganguly is a reason to watch cricket we shall praise him. Nobody challenged Dravid but he himself opted out of captaincy- a pressure cooker type of situation. Ganguly handled captaincy well but somewhat lost his concentration in batting. As Captaincy is no longer a headache for him he will improve in batting game by game . Among his contemporaries he will last longer and shall call it a day when he likes. He is an out of the world character. Bow your head to the God you shameless headless brainless regional fools.

you need confidence as you go into a Test match,but Ganguly's statements look like India will fight very hard.This gives the impression it will be a very hard fought series.Please remember England got blown offf,Sri Lanka got hit.The Kiwis have been thrashed.So there is no question that the Aussies are favourites.Ganguly says we have the team to trouble them.I dispute this.The bowling looks weak still,it may look better than 2003 but is still weak.Sreesanth gave it an edge in South Africa and Zaheer in England.Who will be the spearhead here?without this we will chase and fall short of massive scores.All Ganguly's statements will sound like empty bravado then.

An attacking player yet has managed to have an average of 59.42 in test cricket better than all the batsmen who have played 100 test matches with 33 hundreds.
His captaincy record has overshadowed his own batting records..amazing..The way he copped as a player with captaincy for very longtime is outstanding.
You have to blame none but you DK for the wasted opportunities! Pray the almighty to get another opportunity and to do well if u get one. Else, you're sure to be dumped after this tour.
saurav is right but most of the time indian batsmen have been found wanting to seaming and pacy conditions due to poor technically.It will be a real challenge for indian batsmen against the pace of Lee,Johnson and company

recently Vengi called Dravid as one dimensional player.Dravid always played and palys for Indian Cricket's interest as per team requirement He adopt easily to bat at any position. There are superstar opeing batsman in team and now blabbering so much infront of media but not coming forward to opein innings in tough Aussie condition to accomodate yuvraj. new ball with shine and morning dues on bouncy hard green pitch very difficult to face the fast bowling but after some over balls will loose shining and batting will be easy. sachin sewag and ganguly are specialised opening batsman still dravid is opening the innings BEst of Luck for 10k runs in test cricket too.......

I still wonder how ur hero survived in ODI cricket,, he is so boring.. bcoz of him india lost as many as 15 ODI.. he properly cant hit a six in odi.. only due to so called politicians ganguly he got chance in ODI..because of his butting technique "There is a GOD, there is a saurav in offside".. ha ha ha
Opening against fast and accurate bowling on hard bouncy pitches in aus conditions will be a tough task for any batsman . it will be a challenge to even Jaffer As a professional team player dravid he accepted challenge If he fails he will be out of test team also He is well aware of chief selector has an agenda against him.( Already out of odi team after just five bad innings. (Harbajan was wktless in six matches still he playing odi ) Dravid batted in diff positions throughout his career and highest average than any other ind batsman in test cricket. Rahul is only ind player who won 3 icc awards and represented icc test team for 3 yrs and selected icc odi team for 2 yrs. %u2013( if same honour happened to any other player ind media would done huge noise) Dravid had record performance outside India and always performed against strong bowling attack, when team was under pressure. This will be acid test for dravid and Best of luck to 10 K runs in test cricket Even in 3 test against Pakistan dravid leterally opened innings and responsible for good partnership with jaffer.so making comfortable platform for middle order batsman to carry forward Team has 3 openers ganguly sewag and tendulkar and none of player is coming forward to open innings to accommodate yuvraj. If ganguly & tendulkar can open in odis why not in tests?
