don't tease Hogg
by Praveen Ghosh on Dec 24, 2007 09:00 AM

It seems Indians have teased Brad Hogg little to much. Now you will see, he will kill indians with his bowling. Infact he is better bowler than bhaggi and kumble. Also, we should remember that each of other fast bowler are capable to clean-up our battling line-up. how will they counter them first? Hogg will later only if required. so better make plan for them rather than Hogg.

Call back VRV immediately for Test series
by Rajdeep Singh on Dec 23, 2007 02:56 PM  | Hide replies

I appeal to Indian Cricket selectors to call back Punjab medium-pacer VRV Singh in the place of Pankaj Singh. It is not good for the Indian selectors to trust on inexperienced Pankaj in place of VRV. VRV has the experience of playing against Aussies and it will be better choice than Pankaj who has a very slim chance to get included in the test squad.

Good message on the autograph. I like your humor.

If it was Ganguly, he would have probably written - "I am scared of bowlers".

TENDULKAR TOPS SHANE WARNE'S LIST OF GREATEST CRICKETERS
by Ritwik Bhuyan on Dec 23, 2007 11:40 AM

Sachin Tendulkar topped Shane Warne's countdown of greatest cricketers edging out Brian Lara, who was placed second. Curtly Ambrose, Allan Border and Glenn McGrath rounded out the top five in Warne's Times column.

Warne rated Tendulkar ahead of Lara on account of his mental toughness and hailed him as a "great player and a great man". He wrote, "Outside grounds [in India], people wait until he [Tendulkar] goes in before paying to enter. They seem to want a wicket to fall even though it is their own side that will suffer ... He [Tendulkar] grew up under incredible weight of expectation and never buckled once - not under poor umpiring decisions or anything else."

Warne and Tendulkar clashed several times on the field, but their most most famous battles were on Australia's tour to India in 1997-98. Warne struck the first salvo, dismissing Tendulkar for 4 in the first Test, but was then taken apart in the second, going for 122 runs in 30 overs as Tendulkar smashed a matchwinning unbeaten 155. Tendulkar finished the series with an average of 111, while Warne's ten wickets cost him 54 apiece.

After all Sachin is a batsmen, of course he has been doing his duty successfully all these years. This doesn't mean that he is perfect all the times and have hand over the other end. We all know sachin who got out with zero many times. He is not undistructable. Challenging a bowler who already crushed the Indian batsmen on their own soil, is really foolishness...........If he is capable of playing and attacking the bowler, he is welcomed to do on the field. ......... Anyway we are about to see his performance on the field soon. An fool can perform is his own backyard, performing on others backyard is important. Sachin all the best!! Try to show ur caliber on the field. we all know by this activity of ours, u again proved that ur egocentric for which one Great team player has paid the cost.....................Anyway all the best again for sachin.........hopfully, he will not get out by Mr Hogg!!

Sachin tell never again to urself with the following
by Raman on Dec 23, 2007 09:20 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin should tell the below to himself every day when he wakes up

Never again will i fail under pressure.
Never again i will bat slowly when i reach milestones.
Never again will i get injured on the verge of getting dropped.
Never again will i play world cup as i already played 5 WCUPS and never utilized the chances i got to win the cup.
Never again will i evade Tax if someone gifts me a car.
Never again will i get bowled to any Aussie bowler or any bowler for that matter and pretend as if the ball kept low,i am already very short that it cant keep lower than me.
Never again will i make some average bowlers look difficult to get away and score my recently trademarked slow half centuries of 50 runs in 120 balls when the team needs some quick runs..

Ya Sachin fans ask me how much cricket have i played to talk about him,how much money does he pay u all to write like that?Have u played Cricket before

Yuvraj hit 6 sixes in one over, will Sachin hit at least one six in the whole ODI tournament in AUS with the big grounds and high class fast bowlers,no not Hogg it is the other bowlers who he should really challenge,oh ya atleast joke to challenge...

Raman, know what you are barking instead of just throwing up on your blog.
Sachin did not evade tax, it was the overawed IT guys and politicians who waived the tax WITHOUT HIM ASKING IT TO BE WAIVED.

He has been a outstanding citizen standing up against drinking and smoking (he has never endorsed alcohol or tobacco inspite og being offered crores of rupees). He has been involved in charities and has not been in one controversy.

I think hogg is going to play a major role in this last battle of old warriors (Rahul,Sachin,Laxman,Anil vs Gilly,Ponting,Hayden). The fact is that both sides bowling attack is pretty inexperienced especially aussies attack. They just have lee as a experience bowler at the test level. Hogg is also new, but India have Anil,Harbhajan and Jahir to play and that matters a lot. So hogg statement for Tendulkar is typically Aussies strategy to put indian legend under some kind of mental block. Aussies know that tendulkar know about their verbal weapons on the field very well so they just 'praise' him off the field so that he just feel some pressure.
Aussies know this fact also very well that beside Tendulkar the other two big threats Dravid and laxman can't do much. They have seen and tested this when they last toured India and beat them comprehensively. Dravid and Laxman was just helpless against rampaging aussies that time without the help of Tendulkar(Tendulkar had tennis elbow that time). So this time too its no different. Aussies know that when the little champ is playing, how difficult it is to beat India! He not only play like a champ against aussies but also lift the whole team up. I think mr. hogg should shut up this rubbish against the Indian great because it is not going to work at all!

hey frenz... Sachin used to be a wonderful cricketer but for the last 4-5 years, it has been a slump fr him... as far as AUstralia is concerned..
he has never scored against OZ (and that 2 CONSISTENTLY ... check hayden and gilchrist, ponting, symonds who always fire w/o fear against any opposition). he cant handle exteme pace wonder how its gonna be against Shaun Tait..
Believe or not but age factor has come now and its high time for Sachin to either perform like his image of being a bowler's NIGHTMARE or retire

Bengal Tiger scored a gutsy 100 last time India toured and that set the tone,he has openly said that he has missed lots of 100s for India sake coming late down the order, will ur Endulkar do such a thing for the nation? No never.Saurav once told what is the use of scoring 25 centuries when ur team doesnt win, that time Endulkar had 25 centuries in ODIS but was flopping final after final,Saurav is lot better player than Endulkar, its just his test record doesnt show it.Saurav made one mistake, that was to bring Greg Chappel..

Mr.Raman, If Sachin had half the ego as you, he would not have been rated by many experts as one of the greatest. When you (without any achievements, other than criticize a great player for personal reasons) can have such an ego, why not Sachin. The great Bengal tiger about whom you lavish so much praise, has a big ego.

How shame it was? Indian captain ran away from the match? He not only showed his real character but also ashamed the whole country!
