It was Dravid who advocated sending the Indian Team much ahead of Schedule to Australia. But then he was the Captain at that time. Now we could understand why he left captaincy.

Still confusion in excluding and including the TEAM 11 and who has to Open, who has to be in bench. What about next time , No experienced players will be in the tour aust in 2011 , thinking about future little bit , they missed to include players like manoj tiwari , badrinath ...

Excellent Point... The problem with our Team management is not to be Pro-Active... we are still thinking about tomorrow's opening... but Australia has identified the next skipper (Clarke) after ponting... that shows their planning.

Similarly, why not we bring in Badri and Tiwari as an understudy... get a feel of what is playing in Australia is... so by 2011... they dont jus come as a fresher... simple to think... difficult to implement?????

BCCI is bloodie sending all non-sense for tax issues and non-issues... why not future players man???

Everything about this tour is wrong, starting with the itenerary. The BCCI is least bothered about the result of the series. All it wanted was to tightfit a series between two tightly fitted series, and hence no practice matches.
Then there is team selection. The team management can play any amount of chinese checkers, but will not be able to get the combination right. Hoping aginst all hope, we expect Zaheer Khan and Pathan bowling at 120-125 kmph to dismiss Australia twice. Some statisticians should keep an account of catches dropped in this series. I have a feeling our ageing players are going to drop about 50 in four test matches. Result is a forgone conclusion.

The biggest curse on the Indian Cricket team in the rain of advices the cricket illetrates pour out. This will begin from the News anchors who gives experts comments on the team combinations. these beggers who have not excelled probably in collge level games if they just start preaching how cricket need be played God only Save India Cricket ! Then you have the old champions !! These guys who played in an era of 3 runs per over is simply do not want to agree or give credit to any one else other than themselves! They have enjoyed all the adultration those days and should not be carving for a little these days ! We need to see some creative ve advices comiing from these experts . Unless we as a country stop claiming to be experts of the game which we are not stop making these judgements i dont see any day we become world beaters! Lets leave the profesionls to do their job realax and enjoy our game. Mean while it will be great service to the nation if the cricket illetrate TV news anchors stop making expert comments and focus on Cricket News.

I disagree with that Mr.Singh. They will drop catches only if they make an attempt:-). Given the vast Australian grounds we are going to have a lot of tired legs by mid way into the day.

It is a shame that in spite of Virender Sehwag in the team as opener we have problems in selecting the partner for Jaffer and planning to push Dravid to that position. If Sehwag can not open why we took him to Australia. We do not need any middle order batsman as we have one of the strongest middle order in the World today. We could have taken Gautam Gambhir or any other specialist opener who has shown good performance in the domestic circuit in the place of Sehwag who it appears have been taken to Australia just for sight seeing!!

there can be varying opinions but there is nothing wrong in working on more than one options by the team management who are best placed to take the final decision based on practical considerations on the field. however considering that Dravid is not in best of form and that Laxman will also be new for no.3 position, it is better that the team management settles for Sehwag as opener and complements selectors gamble. after all, unlike one dayer, a test affords you two chances(Innings).

Having taken a decision to send Dravid as an opener in the tour match, it will not be good management to go back on this issue now. Let Dravid open for good or bad because he has also made up his mind and is ready to take on the responsibility now.

Both of them do not want to spoil their records in the fag end of the career. It is a shame that we have world class players in the team who never bother about the country but for their own selfish gains!

You clearly have no cricket knowledge. The pity with Indian cricket is that there are crores of unknowledgeable people like you who give expert opinion without understanding cricket. In football, if the defender is not good, then do they ask their forwards (even if they are world best) to play in defence? Same is the difference between an opener and a middle order batsman. For people like you, who have played galli cricket, you think batting is batting at whatever position it is. And that is why you make illogical statements like this. Gavaskar has asked Sehwag to open. Please give that person some credit for being one of the best openers ever and if Gavaskar is not asking Sachin or Saurav to open that you please do not don the mantle of an expert!

drop any one or include any one ....
the series will be won by the australians...
better if india takes on some under 16 or under 19 team so that they can defeat australia after another 10 years atleast .....
or more better if india can hire some retired australians there to defeat australia....
