why this injustice to Kaif and other UP players
by ramjirao on Dec 20, 2007 02:38 PM  | Hide replies

shewag does not even score 100 runs all together in ranji trophy yest he is given another chance and chance after chance and that moron Dinesh Karthick is not fit to clean raina's shoes and shewag is not fit to clean krthick's shoes.
Kaif should have been the captain of india yet people forget the injustice done to this player and others like raina, piyush, praveen kumar are worth their weight in gold.
indian public are not fools but our adminstrators are biased. They make a 38 year old captain and stuff the team with 35 and 34 year olds. what will be the future of indian cricket 1 year from now.

What injustice? Sehwag played well in last series in Aus... One of few openers whom Aussie bowler really were scared (some later agreed too)! For same reason Sehwag selected! We have issues with Openers not middle order & its injustice to ask Raina to open in this down under series....

Let Kaif be with UP
by Haroon Rasheed on Dec 20, 2007 12:55 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI, please don't select Kaif in the National team if he performs well in the future. I couldn't tolerate when I saw people pelting stones at his house when India lost. This is not what we must do to our cricketers, just imagine what will happen if someone tries to attack us for some silly reason. We cannot always win but sometimes we may also lose. May Allah keep Kaif away from the National team

I agree with you. Although the pelting of Kaif's house was done by a political party (Ram Vilas Paswan's party) which was looking for some television time, and not by people in general. But still, since Kaif comes from minority community in our nation, we have to be very sensitive to these things. If the life and limb of someone like Kaif cannot be guaranteed by the government, perhaps a solid player like Kaif is better off playing for UP than India.

Uttar Pradesh Team doing fine job in Ranaji National Championship. But what is the individual contribution of Kaif in the team. It is no where up to the mark. He is definitely a good leader, but does not mean he can essay a role in the National Team.
No, He can not be included in the National Team.
And mind you, there are others in UP team who desrves a look ahead of Kaif. Lets give them chance.

Ranaji Championship Finals in Last 15 years - Where UP & Bengal stand ?
by Bhushan Patil on Dec 20, 2007 10:01 AM  | Hide replies

Please Note Ranaji Championship Winners,
In Season 1989-90 Bengal Win against Dilhi.
In Season 1993-94 Mumbai Win against Bengal.
In Season 1997-98 Karnataka Win agianst Uttar Pradesh.
In Season 2005-06 Uttar Pradesh Win against Bengal.
In Season 2006-07 ( Last Year ) Mumbai Win against Bengal.
.
Hence you can very well understand that looking at last 15 years of records in the Ranaji Championship final, where these Bengal & UttarPradesh teams stand.
UttarPradesh is clearly improved & it is better team in Domestic circuit compared to Bengal.
Also in last 15 years, there is only one DADA coming in National Team, while UP is churning out Players after Players to represent India in the National Team.
After DADA, Where is the next player from Bengal to represent India in the National Team ?

Mr.Vivek Anand,
Ya, I accept, its comprehensive analysis, and I used it to good effect.
If you have fact & figures to say to support Bengal team, please put forward.
You are not putting any valuable information infront of others & blame others for blaming the Bengal Cricket.
But the Bottom Line is that, with 2 consecutive DEFEATS ( to Orissa & Uttar Pradesh ) in Ranaji Championship, the Bengal Team has reached the bottom of the DUNG. Better concentrate on basics & then blame others.
Or else be in dreams till DADA plays for India, because time has reached, that DADA will retire soon, and once again there is NO ONE in team Bengal to represent for National TEAM INDIA.
Once proud state of Bengal has lost its pride & hang by the thread thrown by DADA. Shame on you.

Bengal team is pathetic...
by bang bang on Dec 19, 2007 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

I don't know whether we UPites should be happy with this one. I mean it has been known for a long time that the Bengal cricket team is absolutely pathetic with or without DADA. All these inferior players like R. Bose, M. Tiwary, L.R. Shukla don't even deserve to be in the B team of UP, but they are in the A team of Bengal.
The heavy defeat which UP is has inflicted on Bengal really shows the difference in the class of two teams.
Go UP Go!

this 'pathetic' bengal team ( with & without dada) has enterd the finals of the ranji trophy last 2 consecutive years.. dont know where u been hiding then..

but aftr this icl thingy, players leaving the team.. bengal team has bcome eal ewak.. and ya i'm not findin an excuse.. they hav played badly.. so lost. period.

but this lad.. Manoj Tewari.. he is real good.
but evn thou Ranadeb Bose is bagging plenty of wickets, i dnt think he can be a match winner in the international level..

but u being the classical moron.. i do not expect you 2 understand all this.

UP lost half its team also to ICL yet came out trumps.
People like S. Tyagi are rookies, who got into the team because of ICL.
Bengal is indeed a pathetic team which should play at the mohalla level. And indeed it will be relegated this year. Good that DADA is away in Australia, so that he will be spared the blame. Even if DADA had been there, the result would have been the same. Too bad that R. Bose couldn't even get a wicket. All Bongs had insulted
players like Raina earlier because they saw him as an enemy of their DADA. But what a sweet revenge now. Bengal in two innings couldn't muster half of UP's one innings total! That is pathetic. Rot away someone must, but it's not me, it will be the pathetic Bengal Ranji team.

And the sweetest part of the story is that UP crushed Bengal in their home ground of Eden Gardens, and not the
other way around.

Dear Mr.Sengupta,
Please refer the records properly before making any comments. For your information, please note,
In Season 2005-06 Uttar Pradesh Win against Bengal.
In Season 2006-07 ( Last Year ) Mumbai Win against Bengal.
Hence it is very well understnd that Bengal lost both the consecutive Finals of Ranaji Championship.
While Uttar Pradesh is Winner of the Ranaji Championship in one of those Finals.
Before DADA & After DADA, there is no one in Bengal Team to represent in National Team India.
While UP is churning out fleet of players to represent India at National Level.
BENGAL CRICKET is doomed. You better concentrate on something else.

@ Saikat...
That Bengal has played well in the past does not make up for how they are playing now. It is true that UP has crushed Bengal and one should be gallant enough to accept that. Bengal has not played well for quite a few games on the trot and going by media reports, the captain is not really leading the team from the front. All these matter in a world where you are only as strong as your present performance. While UP are way up the points tally, Bengal has to depend on other match results to avoid demotion. Ranadeb Bose has failed to impress where Paul has taken five wickets, not to mention Sudip Tyagi's success. Even the chief selector's presence did not seem to inspire the players to do well. Just crying foul will not do; one should look at and accept the reality.
