Aussie Policy
by Rohit Kanwar on Dec 19, 2007 04:32 PM

I think Aussie policy will be to first terrorize Indians with raw pace by operating Tait and Lee in tandem. Then they will bring line-n-length bowlers like Johnson and Clarke so that Indians will be relieved and try to hit them out of ground. Of course they will get out in the process. If they play Hogg instead, again the policy will be the same. With spin on, Indians will try to hit Hogg for sixes, and hopefully will get out. Of course, Indians do have experience with Lee last time around, but now he is a much better bowler who bowls a wonderful length along with raw pace. If Sehwag is played, and he gets going, he may then hold the key to taking care of Aussie bowlers. But all this comes with a big IF.

Struart Clarke equally dangerous
by India on Dec 19, 2007 03:32 PM

Stuart Clarke who bowls around 130-140km and is very accurate like Glenn McGrath is equally dangerous like the rest of the really fast bowlers of Australia.

Gud news
by Sanjay on Dec 19, 2007 01:26 PM

gud to see that Aussies are taking this Indian team so seriously. There must be some strong reason behind it. Either this Indian team is capable and mentally strong or they want a complete white wash to answer the hyped up Indian team. Frankly speaking I do-not-know. Last few performance was gud(whatever may be the oponent). Probably the mental strength of present Indian team is high so the Aussies are not taking any chance.
One more thing, Tait seems to be gud. Yet few bad over will break him into pieces. I saw his bowling. If he continues bowling wide of the stumps he would be belted except few wickets like Shewag's.
Anyway, Best of Luck to our Team.

Re:Play at Melbourne
by John Bosco on Dec 19, 2007 12:33 PM

Pitch at Melbourne is reportedly slo and low, could take spin.So India shd somehow squeeze in Yuvraj. He shd do second spinner's job.Left arm spin of the Shastri variety may workOpeners shd be Jaffer and the in form Ganguly.Ganguly has played in ODI's up the order and is wanting to bat up.So let him take the new ball.
Shd Harbajan play?No room in the team ?Play Yuvraj and leave Bajan out may be the answer.Sehwag can wait for second Test.Laxman's off spin shd be promoted seriously in this situation.

Pray for Breakdown
by Marie Lele on Dec 19, 2007 10:34 AM

Let us pray Brett and Tait break-down midway.

Holy shit, but they still have Johnson, Clark and Hilfenhaus.

No matter what.......we are dead.

Openers hold key
by on Dec 19, 2007 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

Bat first & put 80 without losing more than 1-2 wickets. That is going to decide whether Middel order can pull 400 plau total. If that doesnot happen , recall Akash Chopra

saurav, bhajji n parthiv
by . on Dec 19, 2007 02:43 AM  | Hide replies

saurav, as a teenager, selected for 1992 ausi tour, then dumped for 4 years, only to bounce back in eng tour n make history of itself.
bhajji was taken at tender age of 17 years, failed, rejected by selectors, only to b taken back to become tormentor of the ausi in ind.
parthiv patel was taken at tender age of 17 yrs. was dumped from the team but now showing his true worth as a player, too much to be ignored. he is definitely worth selection in the team. just like saurav n bhajji, dont discard parthiv on his past performance. look at his present performances.

one can understand that Parthiv deserves a place ahead of dhoni & karthik . But karthik lobby is so strong that even if he doesnot perform at all he will be selected . It is really unfortunate for Parthiv Patel
