BCCI decision wrong!
by Gen Zia on Dec 16, 2007 10:05 AM

BCCI has no business in denying Vengsarkar earning some extra buck. After all this is an honorary job and there is no conflict of interest here.

Vengsarkar column

There is no justification for compensating Vengsarkar for stopping his news paper column. Let it be understood that he has got the privilege of writing in New paper during the last 1 year, from the time he became Chairman of Selection committee. Before that he was not writing regularly (and was not paid this heavily). Also once he ceases (as he threatens to resign), no news paper will solicit his column.

BCCI should not succumb to this threat of Vengi. If he has guts let him resign - and face the music - no one will bother his existence. This is true for all - you are important only as long as you hold the post.

Vengsarkar will be continued to be respected as a prolific batsman by cricket followers ,irrespective of whatever happens to BCCI
