Hello indian selectors, Looks like sehwag influenced Indian selectors, if gambir is injured why dont u all try batsman inform who performing in ranji trophy, for example look at Badinath perfomance why dont he is not selected. Come on indian selectors dont spoil good cricketers.stop playing dirty politics. well done indian team against pakistan.

It is better to get a gud knock from an upcoming player rather than sehwag. I'm sure he fires. But consistancy is needed for us to win. To fire in one test match & getting out cheaply in 20 test match is not gonna matter. Who said Sehwag creates a sense of fear among the opposition. It is very evident from his career that, if u bowl quite wide outside the off stump line for five balls, he will chase at least four & get out caught behind in the slip cordon! BTW, kaif has a unusual way of playing in the oppositions mind. He is always very brisk & never shows any kinda anger on the bowlers. Instead, he is one cool head, every bowler will be annoyyed to bowl at. On the other hand, a bowler can involve in a chat with sehwag and get him out the very next ball! Sehwag is also not one of the disciplined when it comes to training or obeying the team order. Last time he was in, the selector's gave a lame reason by pointing out his 70 odd runs in the duleep trophy match, just one day prior to the selection. Do u think the prev day score alone matters?? Sehwag has good backing & thus made into the Indian team. There are lot more hidden talent in all parts of India. Only thing is to groom them well and expose them at a better age rather than young age. They have to be matured enough to face the challenges!

If u want beat australia u must bring ur best current inform players.india have lot of better batsman than sehwag. Can u please go through recent ranji trophy scores of sehwag and others like badrinath.

It is not dirty politics. As Krish Srikanth said in CNN, it is a good decision, as the selectors decided to go with tested Sehwag (in australian condition )than with untested player like Badrinath. Who knows? This could well be the come back series for Sehwag as the South African test series for Dada.

By any stretch of imagination, neither has kaif acheived as much as Sehwag, nor is he considered dangerous or feared by the opposition... Conciously even you know, Sehwag plays on the minds of the opposition instilling in them a sense of fear....Whether you like it or not, Sehwag still avergaes 50 and an year or 2 of bad form is experienced by every batsman......Adding to this, when a batsman has acheived the kind of adulation and fame as Sehwag, ranji trophy matches are not the yard stick to measure their abilities....Its just that, if they are not playing well, its their mind set which needs to be changed..... Sehwag may be 29 but is still not old enough for us to considered that age has taken over him...atleaset not for another 3-4 years.....So its just that he needs to be counselled

well dude, the only way sehwag plays in their mind is how to get out.. and not how to smash runs... he is doing a research on 'how to get out in the most disguisting way'

pathan only as 5th bolr is useful.
by . on Dec 13, 2007 11:54 PM

if ind go with 5 bolr strategy, pathan can b considered as 5th bolr. but as 4th bolr, ind boling attack looks weak.

good points of selectors
1. selection of young 6 n half ft in form pankaj singh as bolr alongwith ishant.
2. ignoring agarkar.

bad points.
1. selection of out of form sehwag on his past records.
2. selection of dinesh karthik (taken as keeper cum opener. but he is doing neither job properly.)
2. ignoring of chopra as opener.
3. ignoring parthiv as batsman cum opener cum reserve keeper.
4. ignoring badri the consistent batsman.

Agarkar was the best performer from bowling perspective last time. They should have called him back on the same logic they called Sehwag back. Useless selectors. Vengsarkar nearly finished Rahul Dravid's career by dropping him.

He will be considered for one dayers...
That is how selectors behave...just brand alrounders/(hard hitting players) as one day players...isn't it is ridiculous

SEHWAG GAMBLE SENSIBLE
by damodaran mohan on Dec 13, 2007 09:52 PM  | Hide replies

Congrats to the selectors, they have done a good job.I wish there was one more youngster paceman besides Pankaj Singh. Recalling Sehwag is a gamble but worth taking and it is up to sehwag now to repay the faith reposed on him. In fact the whole country is hoping against hope he plays sensibly. I think Lalchand Rajput has a job in hand given Sehwag%u2019s recent home scores and stubborn attitude. You can take a horse to water but can you make it drink ? Let us hope Sehwag realizes the ground situation. Our best wishes to him.

I think our selectors did a good and sensible job.If you have to perform better against Australia, the only way is to play positive cricket against them. You can not play defensive cricket and hope for surviving. You may get away with 10-15 overs not more than that. Sri Lankans realised this only in the last innings. They were scoring at a rate of aeround 4 runs per over in that innings and Australians were found wanting that time. So, Shewag can be the person to the job. If he gets going then I think it will be a series to watch just like old series between this two countries. The only person who India will miss there is Sreesanth. His agression would have made lots of difference.

INCLUDING SEHWAG IS INJUSTICE TO AAKASH CHOPRA WHO IS PERFORMING SO WELL. LAST TIME HE DID GOOD IN AUS CAN NOT BE THE REASON TO PICK SOMEBDOY WHO IS HAVING AVG OF 13 IN CURRENT FORM THAT TOO IN INDIA'S DOMESTIC CRICKET. NO GOOD
