Bevan, for that matter no Aussie cares about cricket
by Manoj M on Dec 11, 2007 05:29 PM  | Hide replies

See your grounds during Indo-Aus matches, they are full of Indians. Even a guy like Sreesanth or Kanitkar who have hardly done anything of note in cricket are stars. We are a bunch of star-gazing idiots. As the Reliance punch line says, 'Sapnon pe Yakeen aur cricket jaari rahega India ke dil mein... (Belief in dreams & cricket would continue in the hearts of India). We care about our cricketers, while inspite of your outstanding achievements, your countrymen dont care for you. We love our cricketers for whatever they achieve.

sachin. my foot. if he was not a cricketer he would be a pandu hawaldar. he just plays for money and self achivements. he never plays for country. dont you remember he just gave his wicket when india needed 17 runs to win a text against pakistan. and several times in the onedays when it really mattered. he is a stupid croock and should be kicked away from india. he should play for somalia.

because of the fact that "if we find a 16 yr capable of holding a bat then we push him into intl cricket n chant his name for the next 20 years...." so he ll make all the records... if he was born in australia probably he would have made his debut when he turns 30 n made none of these records.....

its not abt individuals in aus... its form more than class sometimes.....

"a player like sachin"..
no, aus doesn't have a player like sachin. hence their success under pressure consistently. they only have players who try to win even in tough situations.
if not all, many fools win when the going is smooth and the setting suits them.
god save aus if a sachin is born in aus as well. if it happens and aus public behave like indian cricket fans, that'll be the end of aus domination and the beginning of aus stardom, signing contracts with ad agencies, shooting before playing etc...
indian public deserves sania, sachin etc., it doesn't deserve anand etc.,

Bevan the match winner
by chakde on Dec 11, 2007 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

Bevan was a match winner he used to finish of the matches with the excellent wins but not a record holder.sad he is not there in the aussie team it used to be charm to watch his matches the way he used to finish of the matches on his own shoulder it was same with lance klusener but it was for a vry short period of time during the world cup after that v have hardly found any such type of great player it happens sometime with miraceles that some matches some players finish it off cleanely but nothing like Mr Bevan....

Bevan is good finesher.
by PD on Dec 11, 2007 11:14 AM

Yes, no doubt that Bevan is good finesher, and he was on peak form when he retired from cric. WE love his drives and shots.

Yes, its true that, india got lot of starts and superstars with little performance on ground. Indian media and companies are so eagar to sell their products. We create a hype of any player for their little performance on ground.

Indian cricket is full of politics and its for sure that, it is nover going to change. Cricketers perform for their own benefits not as a team and play for country.

GOD HELP INDIAN CRICKET.

MR MICHAEL BEVAN THE GREAT
by vinod shenoy on Dec 11, 2007 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

He was the best batsman ever in one day cricket. his average was 62 at one time and still if he plays i think Australia will be unbeatable. A player of class and style, and his patience really won matches. his strokes were really classy and mind blowing as he said correctly he chose balls to hit. his name is really all above the present superstars because he proved his worth on the field in difficult times when a average of 14-15 runs were required with 6-7 wickets down. we indians pay lots of regard to such a player and salute him for his excellent cricketing talent and the entertainment provided during his career.

U can never compare players. But everybody knows
1. Bevan has more mathces for Australia than Sachin and Ganguly put together for India
2. Sachin and Ganguly are so demanding that they will not bat at No 6 or 7
3. His average 62 is more than sachin and ganguly

We should not be ashamed to accept this reality when our players are so demanding whether they are performing or not

you are wrong both sachin and ganguly have won more matches each for india than bevan for australia. both sachin and saurav have batted for india every number from 1 to 7. since sachin and saurav were openers for a long time, they were dismissed most of the time. bevan's high av is due to his remaining not out in many matches in which he just scored 10 or 15 runs, but they all added to his average.
