Ganguly played very well in this test series and looks to be in very good touch but this not enough he has to make amends in Australia by carrying this form to prove a point. In test cricket Ganguly was consistently inconsistent hope he has learned from his old mistakes.
Fans going ga ga over his last 2 outings are quite justified b'se his best form in test cricket began again after the 2 centuires he played at his debute he has never performed this good.
He will definately play 100 test which will give him more satisfaction on his cricketing career but he should consider himself to be more fortunate in this league b'se the players who have played 100 test for India were much better and class players than him.

Dravid and Ganguly saved the match for India. If one of them had got out yesterday then India could have lost the match. Other batsman could have also got out very quickly. Be thankful for Dravid for saving match for India.

Dravid is a great player. But now he is not in his best. Accept it, Ganguly was also not in form for quite some time and he came back strongly. Give dravid too his time to come out. But a strugling innings is always a struggling one.

Thank the HOLE if we get rid of pak wickets...but not all...as the HOLE was playing for his 50...not interested in scoring quick runs for india.
The parochial postings on this board are disgraceful and borders on an affronting our national dignity. Can we please stay within the confines of objectivity?
I think any Indian should be proud of an Indian doing well in any field. Just as we are immensely proud of Laxmi Mittal, AH Premji in the field of business, Amartya Sen teh Nobel Laureate, etc. Do we care about their region, caste, color? Heck, no. These folks are outstanding individuals... and earned global respect.
In my generation, I think Dravid, Ganguly, Kumble and Tendulkar have provided us a lot of joy and entertainment in their own ways.
Before belittling any of them, please stop for a moment and consider what you have done to make the country proud?
Remember, it is this regional mentality that enabled the british to rule us with scant manpower.

Goranago you are absolutely right. But most of the people who comment here are very communal and regionalistic. They may be very eduacted and intelligent but they are also full of hatred for people of different states. Either thay love Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly or they hate them. They don't understand their respective contributions to the game of cricket. Very few are like you.
I feel Tendulkar should open in Australia, as his place is secured in the team.Always the sword is hanging on three players Laxman,Dravid and Ganguly so these players will be insecure opening the innings, so we should open with the player whose place is secure in team and that is Tendulkar.
The Bengalis may shout from the roof tops that Ganguly is the best. It suits their regionalstic mindset and ego. Ganguly may even get hundreds and boundaries. Still we say, Ganguly is not a team player and is also a fluke. Team India cannot depend on a self-centred guy like him. We have Gentleman Dravid, Consistent Tendulkar, Potential Kartik, Leader Kumble, Dependable Dhoni, Futuristic Laxman, etc, all of whom are capable of taking Team India to dizzying heights under able coaches like Chappel, who can put all pieces together. Indians want a homogenous team for India and by India: not just Bengal.

Reporter: why do you say that "Bengalis may shout from the roof tops that Ganguly..."? Your posting is ridiculous and borders on an affront on National Dignity.

One thing I have seen the people who are ganguly's supporter, they r blind supportrr and those who hate Ganguly, they hate him more blindly... I don't know why.. But I respect the man for his steel nerve and rock solid determination..... And he always answers through his bat...
Before starting 3rd Test in bangalore, I wrote in rediff forum " I Believe ganguly will play well in both innings, and he will be strong contender for MOS".
One Brainless chicken replied " The greatest joke of the year. " There are many such brainless, active body mo rons are roaming into rediff forum. Their mail moto to only abuse ganguly and his innocent fans.
Day before yesterday, there was a programm on CNN-IBN with all inteligent panels, and all they agreed that GANGULY IS TRUE FIGHTER of the indian team. On public voting, GNAGULY RECEIVED 91% votes.
Here I again believe that GANGULY is real fighter of Indian team.
I Respect laxman, sachin and Dravid as great batsman of India and at the same time, I regard ganguly as great batsman having guts and ability.
He may not be as technical perfect batsman like tendulkar and dravid, but with his limited ability, he is a tremendous batsman. Its too lovely to watch his batting in both form of the game.
Here I am 200 % sure that Ganguly will play well in Aussis series and shut all his critics with at least two centuries there.

well said. agreed that he may not be as perfect technically as Dravid, Tendulkar or Lakshman. But definitely he is determined and overcomes that technicalities with his aggression. Never say die attitude is more important than being TECHNICAL. Having said this, I am fortunate that i am not a Bengali. Otherwise, people here will attribute regional bias to me too. Thank god.
People worry that Irfan wont be thr in the final eleven for the aussie tour due to his disappointing performance with the ball. He got selected as a bowler and doin gud with the bat and finding difficult to get the rhythom in bowling. Test crick8 can be won when we get 20 wickets only. otheriwse its "testing crick8" not test crick8. so its high time that each side should hav 5 bowlers so dat it avoid teh draw situation.(3 pace plus two spin or whatever). the moral of the story is we need a result. otherwise its wastage of 22 players effort in 5 days and crores of lazy crick8 fans very precious time...Very unfortunate that i started with one subject and endgin with some other topic..It happens sometime..isnt it?
lets discuss cric8 guys but in nice n ive way most importantly by thinkin above the level of regions.i m in canada now n i have nobody here to discuss cric8.luv u all

I dont like Dravid and that has nothing do with where i come from or where he comes from.
Its totaly based on what he did when he was captain.
1.He along with chappel tried his best to get rid of ganguly. 2.He made Sachin open in the world cup against his wishes. 3.After the world cup when chappel balmed sachin and ganguly..he still supported chappel.
4.He couldnt support his team mates on expense of loosing captaincy.
