...to get that big fat paycheck, u scum bag. I predict a gloomy future ahead of us. I am relieved he'll only "accompany them" on Aus tour but won't be a formal part of it. Imagine if he was - would be an Aus 4-0 whitewash.

Gary ...not a good choice
by ajay dixit on Dec 09, 2007 11:33 AM

There's nothing against foreign coach...but the choice of GK is really a surprise. This guy didn't even apply for this post and right from the beginning..he is saying that 'I am honoured'..Something really fishy going on at BCCI. I think S Gavaskar (dumb head) had made a handsome deal with GK. The truth is; this guy (GK) runs an academy in which he doesn't play any technical role (improving batting skills, bowling - which he doesn't know,fielding-definetely not a great fielder, or is he a strategic analyst-Big NO). GK has hired a team of professionals to run his academy (coach, fitness trainer, physios, mental coach etc) and he is just managing them (counting the money-may be his wife would help him for that).....POOR CHOICE. LONG LIFE GREAT GAVASKAR..

with v prasad (bowling), r singh (fielding), dav whatmore would have been a better choice or someone within India.

Gavaskar will be rich with this DEAL.

There is nothing to do much by you Mr. Gary................

__________________________
Its considered as the premier tour to Australia.

GK wants to take charge in MARCH !!! After 2 months from Aus tour finished...

So nothing much to do there, might be few BIG-4 players will be retired by then...

So smooth run for few millions...

Good deal with Mr. Gavaskar...

Another Guroo's time...

IS THERE ANY GOAL SET FOR THIS COACH...no world cup is in perspective...

So good for all...

You could bring few more friends as "MENTAL COACHES", please give their service to BCCI and selectors....Badly they need it...

that is wat the great great great and only greatest sunil will do.he will do only those which wont save indian cricket. As u rightly said if gary escaping from Aus tour then wat is the point in appointing Gary? that is wat sunil is best in doing.Doing something that wont save indian cricket.Doing nothing when something is to be done to save indian cricket.

just observe
by ramana murty on Dec 08, 2007 04:25 PM

he will obseve one day. After one month he will c wat is happening in our cricket.AFter one month he will c the dressing room.after yet another month he will c the benefits provided to him. Then he will go to c practice sessions............. so on adn so forth.By the time he takes full charge we will c the return of our heroes(ZEroes) from Australia with the captain saying"Our pitches to be improved to make sure we dont loose in Australia in future".This is the regular reply we are hearing from our hopeless BCCI administration and captain/coach/selection committee........etc.

Smart before took charge
by ramana murty on Dec 08, 2007 02:36 PM  | Hide replies

Gary proved to be quite smart .First he said he will take charge after Australian tour. That speaks highly of his smartness. He dont want to be a scape goat for our players'(board's) Ineffciency.Very smart.Watever he is recommended by Great great great great Sunil gavaskar. So he has to be indian coach.(May be sunil would have made money under the mat. who knows in gary's appointment).God would have tired of saving indian cricket

of course, his plan could backfire...... if by a stroke of luck, india would to perform superbly in australia, then expectations for gary would rise.

i disagree...on the contrary it looks to me gary has played a very smart game here. he is going to be in australia for some time only as a "consultant". so if team loses, its not his fault since he isnt a fulltime coach yet and if team wins, then he can say see only consultation did so much, what full dose of gary can do to indian cricket? very smart indeed.

Just observing is not enough buddy. This is a tough bunch. If you are thinking that black/brown skins can be handled the way your forefathers handled SA governance during apartheid regime, you are in for a big surprise. If you do not get your management skills right, you will not know what hit you. As Greg...
