But one victory came when Dravid was captain.
So where r those famous overseas victories under Ganguly?
2 Tour of Srilanks 2001, result 2-1 loss for India. Here Ganguly achieved a rare feat, first ever series loss to Lanka.
3 Tour of South Africa result 1-0 loss for India. It would have been 2-0, but the last test lost its status due to Mike Deness affair.
4 Tour of West Indies 2002, result 2-1 loss for India
5 Tour of England 2002, result 1-1, Dravid scores three centuries on the trot
6 Tour of NewZealand 2002, result 2-0 loss for India
7 Tour of Australia 2003-04, result 1-1 mainly due to efforts of Dravid, Laxman, and Sehwag
8 Tour of Pakistan 2004, 2-1 victory for India, but 1 of the matches won by Dravid. And the match which Ganguly won, Dravid scored 270.
So where r those famous away victories which Ganguly earned for India? I only see losses and equalized series. Conclusion: The Ganguly reputation as a victorious captain is basically a creation of media loyal to Ganguly/Dalmia.

If u takeout dravid contributions from gnaguly success as test captain his winning % as test team captain will be lower than tendulkar's he misused media to build image and took credit for hardwork of dravid sachin kumble sewag and laxman while all other captain share credit of victory with teammates.
"whiever scores big runs vs australia they are great batsman in the world" this is what they say like Ian Chapple and others. then Brodman, pointing, hyden never scored vs aussie, so how they considered as greats. in the world cricket only austalian bowlers good in this case also brodmons are not great,
