chief selector tried to perside tendulkar to make him captian offering him capticy till SA saeries but tendulkar declined his offer now vengi will take revenge against tendulkar the way he did to dravid?
How much drama he is making vengasarkar should be sacked immidiately?

maybe we should have foreign selectors instead of a foreign coach. that way all the regionalism ans favoritism will end.

Vengsarkar to quit
by jamsheed abumohammed on Dec 02, 2007 05:22 PM  | Hide replies

Its a good news that the Mumbaikar Vengsarkar has finally decided to quit. He should have done it long before when there was so much outcry at the dropping of ever dependent Dravid. Many were critical of his selection policy showing more favour personally to players of his choice than judging them on merit. He should go and it was long over due. BCCI shoul not stop him, instead chose a better successor to him who can be impartial in selection of players. He has contributed negativity in the players and if any good has happened to the Indian cricket during the past few months, largely due to plyers efforts than due to this Mumbaikar. Kumble should have been made captain long back instead he offered captaincy to the reluctant Tendulkar. Dropping of Dravid, a solid player of repute from the ODI was a real mistake. Luckily India won all the matches without Dravid. But then ignoring such a great player even acknowledged by the Paki players was pointer to dismal show this Mumbaikar Vengsarkar has done it to the great batsman. A man from South India should be made the Chairman as he will be very impartial towards all. They will be astute selectors and will select a team of players who will bring gold to Indian cricket. Igonring such talented players as was done in the past by the Mumbaikar will not be done this time and all players will be given due share and place in the team. So that India could play to its full potential in the next tour to Australia. This is the right choice.

Dont spread false things about anyone without even knowing the facts. Just because he dropped Dravid there is so much hue and cry. Why did people not comment when he dropped Sachin and Ganguly from ODI against Bangla Desh earlier this year? Shut up and stop posting this nonsense

This is good step taken by Mr. Venksarkar, he is honest man and unable to work under dictatership of BCCI. BCCI is the group of dalas(Notorious people)

As you sow so you reap.
He played dirty politics himself to drop Dravid.
It's only fair now that he is getting humiliated.
He should resign before he gets insulted even more.

where you were when Dravid, More & our famous "guru" greg played dirty politics to drop the series winning captain (most successful captain also)? It is true that dropping of dravid is not a good decision.
when it happened in case of your beloved regional player then you r shouting!!! It clearly states that you support provincialism.

He also dropped Sachin and Ganguly from ODI series in Bangla Desh. Where were you when this happened?. Have you ever played cricket? Dravid was dropped because his ODI form was not good in last 10 games or so. He is not dropped permanently and will be brought back against Aus.

Vengsarkar and Chairmanship
by Sivanandan nair on Dec 02, 2007 04:55 PM

Vengsarkar should quit the Chairmanship. He was writing coloumns even before he taook over the job of Chairmanship of selection committee. Knwoingly the BCCI has given him the job, and now they asked him to stop writing is illegal and being a self respected man he has to quit and do his writing attitudes continously. He has to write the truth about this rogues like Niranjan shah, Sukhla, Pawar and the other politicians who does not know anything about cricket and never palyed the game. His decision to quit is very fine and should be welcomed by alll cricket fans and the senior players should support him to contest the election in BCCI for the next term.
