It clearly shows that opening stand and contribution by openers is necessary. But, he has excelled only on excellent batting tracks, thus in trying conditions, he is yet to prove. Barring against Begladesh, his contribution has not won any match, whose attack is below mediocrity. Moreover, he has yet to prove himself in saving the test matches also.
In cricket, it seems every run you take is a record or has some significance.
How come it hasnt come to the notice of the people that this is the first time Jaffar has scored 212? or that Sachin has scored 82? or even better, this is the first time Sachin has scored 82 and Jaffar as scored 212 in the same innings.

you are absolutely right kesav...these media persons dont allow a cricketer to grow, instead apply so much pressure on them and kick them out of the game.....same happened to Sehwag, Kaif, Aakash Chopra, Parthiv Patel (poor young kid)..
