It is strange that the Indian team management is trying out Dinesh Karthik in the ODI team when a much better ODI batsman and fielder like Robin Uthappa is waiting in the wings. Karthik is surely good for the test team, but lacks the daredevilry for a oneday team. Hope the team management sees sense.

DK is useless in the ODI team, but so is Uthappa, he is like Sehwag, now here, next ball no where.Uthappa is only in the team because of the Karnataka lobby.

hey brother i appreciate ur concern towards winning world cup, but dont you think that sachin, dravid and saurav should be given chance to play as they are performing right now and it seems as if still theres enough of cricket left in them thanking you

disagree with 3 names.. Gambhir, Uthapa, R Bose...they have all been ever selected only because of zonal selecetion system..not for pure talent.. I would rather have Irfan pathan for bose; any young U-19 promising player as openers..Also Venugopal Rao looked good but never got a chance...I would give him a fair chance in middle order..
RE:Please omit these ones.........

one more add;; CEBU JONAS.... you want Ganguly who hasnt managed a 100 against any stronger team in 5 years but not Tendulkar or Dravid..

Dear Cebu replace Ganguly with Dinesh Karthik, Pathan with Ranadeb Bose, Munaf Patel with Sreesanth, Kaif with Dravid, Pujara with Gambhir. the team will be very good. The team is: 1)Dravid 2) Dinesh Karthik 3)Gautam Gambhir 4)Rohit Sharma 5) Yuvaraj Singh 6)Ms Dhoni 7) S Badrinath 8) Robin Uthappa 9)Piyush Chawla 10)Zaheer Khan 11) S Sreesanth 12)Ranadeb Bose 13) Yo Mahesh 14)Pravin Kumar 15) Romesh Pawar This team should do well. As for Irfan Pathan he should do well in A Tours and domestic cricket/ county cricket before he can be considered.
RE:Dravid Fans at bay
by Jayanth Shah on Aug 30, 2007 03:29 AM
dravid fans and india fans as a whole should appreciate dravids innings. rest of them apart from yuvraj and maybe ganguly didnt help. dravid increased the scoring rate and made a half century. ganguly was crawling and eating up deliveries
RE:RE:Saurav Ganguly is the only one deserve a place in the current team from all the uncles list
by Bharani on Aug 29, 2007 10:04 PM
is saurav Ganguly your real uncle? is that why you are supporting him?
While Dravid taking the 5th spot is not surprising,it is glaring that we are not allowing the next set to emerge.A new look Indian ODI team could be Praveen Kumar,Uthappa,Tewary,Rohit Sharma,Kaif or Yuvraj to lead,Raina,Dhoni or Karthik,Irfan or Pankaj Singh,Piyush,Zaheer,Sreesanth and R.P.Singh.Stand down the oldies and let this team play ODI's for a year.Oldies can play Tests. Some more reserves could be Badrinath,Harbajan and Ishant Sharma.

ya. so that we can tour zimbabwe and bangladesh with this team and probably draw a series or two. and we can comfortably forget even competing against the likes of Aus, SA, SL, Pak or NZ

Dear Aravind Kumar Don't be so harsh on these young guns. They'll Certainly do well if you give more chances. Tendulkar, Dravid,Ganguly cannot go on and on. One by one they should be replaced. First Ganguly should be replaced by Uthappa or Gambhir. then Tendulkar should be replaced by Suresh Raina. then Dravid should be replaced with Rohit Sharma or Manoj Tewary. This should be a gradual process. If we are going to simply say tendulkar cannot be replaced then there won't be fresh faces. The game has changed a lot and what is needed is a right combination of experienced players plus energtic young guns who can field exceptionally well. Look at the England Team. they have got superb players in Alistair Cook, Ian Bell, Matt Prior, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Mascarenhas, Flintoff, Stuart Broad,Chris Tremlett etc. they are young, energetic and their fielding is top class. ofcourse they also have Monty Panesar who is not that good in fielding, but is a superb bowler. Coming to our team, the fielding aspect is routinely overlooked and what we have 34 year olds who are not fit for one day cricket with respect to their fielding. In our current team in England, we have only one good fielder in yuvaraj singh. Even he is not the same guy as before afer the knee operation. We've got pathetic bowlers in Ajit Agarkar ( wondering he holds a place even after so many ordindary performances), Munaf Patel ( looking like a 60 year old in fielding), the 3 biggies [dravid, sachin, ganguly who

i am not saying that they should play for ever or anything. what i am saying is that the new comers should not be brought in when they are not ready. i feel very bad because raina's career hit a road block because we simply kept believing that he is the future and stuff. what is needed is that they play some county cricket or A tours and become more solid.

continuedd... are all 34 and their reflexes have slowed down]. There should be proper grooming of youngsters and they should be given more chances. It will be a big shame if any one or all of the 3 biggies [sachin, dravid, ganguly] plays in the next world cup. one of the reasons why we didn't do well in the WC 2007 is because we had more oldeis in our team. Dinesh Kaarthik, Sreesanth, Pathan were not given chance to play in not even one of the matches. We had all the oldies whoever played in all the matches based on reputation and were not picked on form. This should not happen in future matches and tournaments but this is happening in the current tour of england.

agreed that they are old and all...........take a look at this series and look at all the culprits as far as fielding is concerned. Dhoni, RP Singh, Powar, Munaf, Dinesh Karthik. ganguly dropped one catch which was dhoni's mistake. sachin misfielded once in the third match. we should not blame them just because of their age. and remember that they are able to cover up with their batting. something which is not the case with either of the others.
