As far as i remember that was because of a repeated offense. The same problem of slow over rate was repeated thrice before the ruling....

yes dbl standards r there. sourav was the easy target of referees. Sourav was fined alongwih Sehwag n 4 other indian players in SA when players decided to boycot the third test. Ausis r the most spared team from imposing of fine. remember, Michael Slater episode against Dravid in India
This is nth time in the Indian tour to England, that umpires have given our batsmen out. Second time for Sachin.
The ball he was given out was a bouncer and also a no ball for the height he had to duck it. What action has been taken on the umpires for these. People say that it is a mistake or if the batsmen stay in the crease to protest, then the get a huge fine.

yes umpires r considered above par. even they shud b taken to task, why only players? it was surprising that eng side was at receiving end today. Every time india is on receiving end esp when referee is madugale.

U r absolutely right. Where is the accountability of umpires? What is the use in reviewing an umpire's performance after 1 yr? The crucial moment is at the time of his decision. These rough decisions sometimes affect the context of the match. Atleast batsmen should be given the chance of requesting the umpires to refer the decision to the third umpire

In tennis, player can call for tv replay if he thinks linesman made a wrong call..and player can use this only three times in a match. similar thing can be done in cricket where a batsman can be given two attempts to request the field umpire for tv replay.
