I strongly agree with Sonu Das. the organisation has said that it will be provide entertainment, but at what cost... Is it in sprit of the game!!!! the results can be manuplitated, players can be asked to lose their wiket, betting will will be at its peak... and we the fans of cricket will be only watching rehersed drama on the field.

BCCI is itself a self confessed private business entity.

It's not just the money
by Sujith on Aug 22, 2007 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

Last day I found Srikanth screaming at top of his voice that ICL is a money making venture... Does that mean BCCI is a charity organization? We can be atleast relieved that ICL management consists of people from the entertainment industry and from Cricket - Not jobless filthy politicians! Mr.Srikanth, we respect you as a cricketer and agree that you have a good cricketing brain. Dont make us think otherwise with your senseless argements against ICL.

ICL is not just about the money... it is also providing a platform for so many budding players across the country to rub shoulders with proven international stars. BCCI, at any given point in time, will not be able to provide this kind of an opportunity to so many players. So then why the heck do they care to stop others from pitching in in this arena?

And after all, can anyone name at least 5 Indian players who are worth watching at international level? Sachin, Sourav, Dravid have all grown too old and lazy to play cricket anymore. They should stop playing and start helping others play good cricket. They can utilize the experience they have to nurture the young blood.

And for heaven sake - dear BCCI - please dont talk crap in public. We are not fools to believe you... And we all know who is greedy for money!

Money is important for the game and for all, but we dont want a game of cricket to die. BCCI abides to the RULES AND REGULATIONS of the ICC. If ICL is approved by the the ICC,and if it follows the rules and regulations of the ICC, we can be assured to certaint extent that betting and results of mathes cant be manupilated. As law can not be taken in our own hands, similarly, not everyone can say that he wants to promote young budding players and cricket and start an organisation/ league.

TaTA will start...Birla ...and Infosys and Wipro too will jump in the field... coz holding cricket league will be a profitable business and than everybody including underworld will have their own cricket league.. what will then BCCI do?? May be after 10 yrs. i will run my own cricket league with Dhoni, Yuvraj, etc.

ICL is a waste
by Jasmeet on Aug 21, 2007 12:06 PM

Guys if we see ICL comprises of players like Inzaman, Lara, Reetinder, Kumaran etc etc - now these players are for sure not gonna be selected in their respective teams (like Pakistan, India etc) so these guys can risk their careers. Any young player or a player who thinks he can make it to the Indian side will not play in the ICL tournament. ICL will just be a waste of time & efforts .. more so coz the organisers are planning this tournament in the middle of the hectic schedule of Indian team.
I AM SURE NO ONE WILL TURN UP FOR THE MATCHES...

Welcome ICL
by karthik venkateswaran on Aug 21, 2007 11:55 AM

If you follow domestic cricket, these 44 cricketers are the cream on Indian Domestic cricketers. They are not famous because they have not been given chance and alo because of poor Domestic cricket structure.

Welcome ICL. Change the Indian cricket
