If india has to succed in cricket. Take bowlers who are from NORTH where people have good height,broad shoulders,aggression and sturdy slim body. and take batsmen from south india.... as batsmen need patience,coola nd calm attitude..
to becoem best cricketing nation in the world.... please promote this game in villages and rural parts of punjab,kashmir,haryana,himachal pradesh,rajasthan Only at these places in India will u find people with broad shoulders,tall height,sturdy body. when pakistani punjab can produce akram,waqar,imran,auqib,shoibh THAN WHY CANT INDIAN PUNJAB....where there are more stronger poeple

yet the country hardly won any away series,any world cup,any away ODI series. I seriously doubt they are the best trio ever,with great indivisla performances But no away performance to show.

Birju...one thing we have to agree is every caste is special in itself. 1)the brahmins are topping every IIT exams or no matter which exam u take. 2)the kshtriya caste is excellent in courage adn valour and has protected india from foreign attckers from 1000's of years.Even today sikhs,jats,rajputs and marathas are majority in indian army. 3)the baniya bussiness class is today making india proud in the feild of bussines.rights from ambanis to nearly evenry successful bussiness are baniyas.... 4)the so -called harijans.....are slowly but surely developing themselves.
So when it comes to the feild of sports....we need players with agreesiion and good built....So let us promote the game of cricket in these castes.
Unfortunately today the game of cricket is dominated by brahmins like tendulkars,ganguly's,dravids,laxmans,kumbles,srinaths,prasads,karthicks. Not that these are not good players....But to have that agreession we need palyers from the warrior caste.

I did'nt ask abt the Marathis, but in 75 - 80 yrs of Indian Test Cricket History you could only name 2 sikhs, 2 tamils and no rajputs on the other other hand you've got to rub off the contributions of Kapil Dev, Madan Lal & Manoj Prabhakar G.R.Viswanath, M.L. Jayseema, Javagal Srinath & Anil Kumble Pankaj Roy & Sourav Ganguly Lala & Mohinder Amarnath Syed Kirmani, Azharuddin, Abbas Ali Baig, Farooq Engineer Also kindly note MAK Pataudi or Zaheer Khan are not pathans the former is from Gwalior (MP) and latter from Gujarat.

For a very long time the indian cricket team was just nothing but an extension of the bombay cricket team... Speaking of regional bias there was none, since most players were from bombay only, and very few from other states...
Remember the times of the Sardesais, Merchants, Gavaskars, Prabhakars, Manjarekars, Kamblis, Tendulkars, Agarkars and so on and so forth...
When Deve Gowda became PM, half the Indian Side was from Bangalore!!!
There will never quite be an Indian Team which takes only the BEST cricketers from across the nation... Now with BCCI's stupid stand against ICL, there will never be a complete indian team... only those who don't join ICL in the hope that BCCI may pick them to play for india, perhaps in this life or the next...

I agree, In same logic marathis, Tamil do not play that much hockey but we should just include marathis's tamil , karnataka players in hockey team for quota? Thats wrong similarly marathi, kannada, Tamil and bengali are more in cricket team because they play game better. selection should nothing to do with religion or region. It should be on individual qualities. Let wholde Indian team be of Bengalies or Sikhs only if they qualify and no one should complain.
