Good decision
by Abhay T on Aug 13, 2007 04:27 PM  | Hide replies

What people are talking about is all rubbish. The wicket is still very good for batting. In those circumstances, it was not so difficult for England to play 5-6 sessions and make 450 score. Once bowlers get tired, it would have made things even difficult. In fact, if KP had survived, he would have ruthlessly attcked our tired bowlers and England would have made 500 runs. In those circumstances, India would have required 200 odd runs from 40-50 overs. This means India could have either lost the wickets in run chase or play negatively to draw the match. So, playing on the 4th day was better than playing on the final day. Although, India lost quick wickets, it never looked difficult to play on day 4. It was only carless and over confident batting from Indian players that forced us to play slowly.

"Follow On" is a good option only when the wicket suites your bowler and there is virtual guarantee that you don't have to bat again. This is not the first time, India didn't give follow on. Ganguly also took same decision against Aus. Aus gave a follow on to India and had lost the match. So, even Eng/Aus didn't give "follow on" in many cases. I think it really doesn't matter much. These cheap TV channels make fuss out of anything, just for TRP.

The only unfortunate thing is India unnecessarily lost quick wickets and were forced to play slowly. This means, Indian bowlers may not get enough time to bowl Eng team out. Let's hope that the wicket helps Kumble and India win this mat

With this negetive decision Mr.Dravid and all who support this decision implies pessimistic character .You no longer can be a leader ...a leader is one who believes in his team even if his team is weaker than opposition ........With this kind od tactics and negetive mind he can no longer lead India (who ever might have given him advice it is his responsibility ......please drop your hat and hand over to someone else )

Thanks for your services still now

Dravid is unfit to be a captain..He doesn't have the aggression and the killer instinct to crush the opposition. Scoring 650 odd runs in the first innnings and still fearing to enforce a follow on clearly shows his weak leadership abilities. He may be a great batsman..or a good individual but not quite good enough to be the captain of this indian squad. Its because of him, now the match is heading towards a pale draw which would otherwise be a great win.

Dravid..Come on boy! Time has come..U have played enough and have done a lot to Indian cricket...Its time to leave buddy! atleast for the sake of this team! Selectors...Take a note

This is ridiculous, if India could take wickets it can do this today as well. I think there are too many myths about follow on. It makes sense to enforce a follow on when wicket suites you very well and your bowlers are really thretening. Its better to give them a diffcult task of levelling the series and if the pitch helps spinners on last day, we can win the match

Dravid decision is right First and foremost thing is that india should win the series which is the ultimate aim. India should never give any chance of victory to england. It is very difficult to bat on final day. most people post bullshit messages based on poor knownledge about cricket. Shame on such guys

Good Joke buddy,
Imagine if Dravid forced England to follow on.....fine dem England have to options either go for win or draw dey can not efford to loose....so if dey go for kill dey will surely loose wickets(dere will be lot of pressure on dem) Even if dey go for kill...if dey play one whole day dey may have scored 350, with just 30 runs lead..can dey efford to declare? Answer will be absolutely no...so dey have to bat atleast 2 sessions or least case 1 1/2 sessions to to build up considerable lead......so cant India bat for atleast 2 sessions to save the Game....Dravid widely regarded as the wall(do he feel he has holes in dat wall)...what is dis absolutely rubbish...just lack of faith. Look at the way Tendulkar and Dravid has played........just refresh your memory wen india has to save the test match in deir last tour of south africa.....Dravid and Sachin has done d same....did dey succeed in doing that....on both occassions it was Ganguly who has played a fluent innings.....Even in the situations wen dravid has saved the test matches...Dravid has managed fluent innings rather dan worst innings like this...what happend to his mind?

can India will Win or not ?
by sundar rajagopal on Aug 13, 2007 02:41 PM

Sure Guys the ball is in England side now...I mean today even if England loose or make this draw...there wont be no use for them..instead they will try to win the match by playing as a one day match...still they have got 540 balls...they are in need of Just 444 Runs only...Sure its achivable only....sure Today all the England players..having Good mindset to play good Game with big Knocks...they have got good players like STRUSS,VAUGHAN,Coolingwoon,Pieterson...

Sure Indian bowlers Should understand the conditions and they really should bowl well else...England will Win the Match easily.
Cheers to Both the TEAMS...lets have a good game of cricket today..

Dravid was right>>>>>>
by Jitendra Sharma on Aug 13, 2007 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

think Dravid taken that decision for three reason(Only what i think as per my little understanding):
1.India,s main striker(Zaheer)was not fully fit as we saw yesterday...he required some time Rejuvenate himself.
2.He dont want to bat on the 5th day of the Test.
3. He was quite Apprehended about the batting...even if have to chase a meager total of 150 or so.
But we should keep faith on our guys and hope for india's win.

With a name like Dravid,he has no chance. The Northies, the Mumbai gang and the Bengal babus will spew hate.It is better Dravid steps down and concentrates on his batting.Never mind that he has rebuilt a broken team of primadonnas larger than their boots to a series win against England in England.Never mind that he has rebuilt a pace attack that counts.Never mind the Trent Bridge win.Nothing matters except that your head has to be on a platter.

Hey Bosco,
Justify only the decision not to allow follow on. Come out of blindness of supporting Dravid even after his making 12 in 96 balls. Is it Captain's knock? A sure win is turned to a mere draw, is it good captaincy?
