Its really sad to see some of the stuff which gets written under the garb of a discussion - irrespective of what the topic is all about, irrespective of how the team is doing, the outbursts you get to see here in this section leaves one with a sad feeling that as a society/nation we are really incompetent when it comes to having a constructive & meaningful discussion or debate. Its sad but seems to be true!

What can happen with body line attack?
How many players could have succeeded playing like that? To hook or pull when fielders on on long leg deep, squareleg ,Short leg, short square leg and/or silly mid on.
what do you expect? And can you answer one question why a batsman is attacked with such a tactic. Sir Don Bradman was once given such tactic.

It is because England could not find sure way of getting them out cheaply. When in Jamaica West Indies used such tactics Bedi had to delcare innings with many injured. Ansuman Gaekwad stood there in first and Mohinder Amarnath in second innings.

Country men, Are you against youth? give the youngsters a chance. Your son could be a promising cricketer but may not get an opportunity because of players like Sachin who at present is only playing for records and the Crores he makes per year. Who in this world is willing to give up such kind of money? Yes he likes to play cricket, he can do it at domestic level, nobody is stopping him.

i dont know why in every inning sachin plays people comes out with diffrent thoughts... this is how u put pressure on your best batsmen. i think these stupid people are responsible for his rare poor performances...let him play the way he wants as he knows better then us how to serve his country... for me he is still the best and will play for min of 5 years with full command...god bless sachin :)

Sachin has become a bore not solid
by India on Aug 12, 2007 12:12 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin has become more boring than Dravid used to be. Tendulkar is only serving one purpose. Taking care of one end. Is that good for the team if runs are not scored, by just occupying the crease? Can the greatest batsman stoop to this level to retain his place in the team? When Tendulkar is batting this way by not scoring runs one wishes he just gets out so that the next batsman can come and score some runs. India has so many talented and skilful batsmen who can easily replace a player who has become afraid to play aggresive cricket.

Cricket is a team game!!!!!!
by S Narain on Aug 12, 2007 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

Indian team has played as a team after a long time.Every one has contributed , this is how Indian team should play.
The good change in team performance , that we have seen mainly due to abscence of the arrogant, chief wrecker of Indian team ,Greg Chppel.
Now ,I am afraid ,BCCI may bring another Chappel to wreck the team again.

It is a fact that if every body in team ,plays as team rather than as an individual, then only team can perform as good as Australian Team.
Hence , Please do not try to belittle the performance of great players like Sachin, Ganguly , Dravid. However ,everyone has to contribute like in Oval test.
Good days are ahead for Indian cricket, even if we have no coach or not a good thinking Captain ,so long as team performs.

Completely agree with Hooter - there is no need to argue with you coz. you'll never understand...

Rightly said Hooter - Indians never retire gracefully... And what more proof do you need that after the World Cup - Lara retired, Inzi stepped down, Mcgrath (Though in prime form) retired but the shameful 3 of Indian cricket remained.

don't need to come to your crap blog to know how crappy and hollow you are!! Your two lines of non-brain have convinced me that you are a typical irrational Sachin hater!! Needless to say, objectivity is the last word in your dictionary cos there are dozens of instances where he has performed alone and the rest of the team have crumbled!!

Idiot,

All three has crossed age of 37 - 38. Our trio are still 34 only. If your boss retires at 58 years does that mean every one else also has to retire. Have some sense in comparision.

Sachin - Baffling to see him bat !!
by Hooter on Aug 12, 2007 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

If crikcet lovers watched this game closely ....

One would observe that while Sachin was at crease, it was no more entertainment ... rather it was torturous, self-restrained & very stubborn kind of cricket.

Nowadays bowlers routinely target him knowing that he doesn't like the "short-stuff" and in this Oval Test, it was very very pitiful to watch Sachin offer his body instead of bat !!

Thats simply not cricket. While others of his age ... Dravid & Ganguly are not that bad.

There seems to be something missing or something tying him down or restraining him. Its baffling to see him bat that way but at the same time, its sad to see our best batsman offering his body instead of his bat.

Definitely not worth ... Sachin should seriously think of retiring after this series.

This is not to take out his stupendous achievements but as a keen follower of his game, I felt it was really torturous for him.

That is why he held the innings togather while scoring 82. Hitting out was am easy option for him but he chose the hard option for the India. You guys who have never played cricket will never understand the actual on field proceeding. You are only expert in giving comments on blogs.

Undertaker,

Dear sir, Whether I have lifted a bat or whether I have played for clubs or colleges ... how does it bother you ?

I am entitled to my views !! Its upto you whether you agree or disagree.

Oval Test is telecast live on all 5 days ... so, go out and watch & make your own views !!

I have been watching Test cricket since 1985 ... not that I am an expert but I have my own opinion about the game.

Not necessary that I have to worship Sachin for that.

I appreciate his game & not him !! Hope you get that.

So Mr Hooter, do trace you ancestry to the encyclopedia pages and then get back to those jungles whence you came from!
You say you have been wathcing cricket from 1985, well you seem to be the ancient type!!
Dull dotard!! Toitally convinced that you are a retard with very poor analytical rowess when ti comes to cricket!!
Inspite of watching cricket all these years, your understanding is very poor indeed!!
Maybe the slums you come from, a common TV means that you can't get close enough to the screen!! Nowadays, some old B&W TV sets are available for a cheap price, maybe you will be able to afford one of those TV sets, what say??

true hooter,i a have been a die hard fan of sachin since 1992..i must admit that oflate his batting is indeed painful..there is no doubt that he is contributin and so deserves a place in the team but having said that,he is struggling against rookie and ordinary seamers..may be age and injuries are catching up with him.. so flamboyant, flexible.attacking sachin is gone
