'You took time, but did it'

Many say greatness in sport is about many things but more than anything else it is about producing your greatest performance on the greatest occasion. For his massive performance with the bat at the Brit Oval Anil looks to be a perfect candidate for the Man of the Match honours.

Kudos to Kumble!!
by Praveen Kumar on Aug 11, 2007 11:07 AM

Nice to see a fighter like Kumble achieve a proud milestone like this albeit at the end of his career. None of the present generation of cricketers compared to his lion-hearted approach to the game.
Theres a lot everyone can learn from Kumble and his love for the game and country. I am happy to have witnessed his innings; it will be a good picture stored in my memory for a long long time.

Kumble - most unsung hero of Indian Cricket.
by Rahul Kulkarni on Aug 11, 2007 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

Congrats from the bottom of the heart to Jumbo. How many cricketers have played international cricket consistantly for 16 yrs?
He is a warrior , team men and most unsung hero India has ever produced.
I will rate him the best sportperson , teamman , guide , mentor ahead of Gavaskars , Tendulkars, Dhonis and Kapils as he is team man first!!!
Instead of flowers , he has to face criticism and was dropped for abroad tours .He has not been into a single controvercy in such a long career!! No verbal duets , sledging , he has taken success and failures in his stride.
Still he never complained and is doing his job.
Any cricket lover should have heard commemts made by Ian Chappel after the match.

Pls convey my salute to most unsung hero of Indian Cricket.

Humble Kumble deservs credit
by S Hegde on Aug 11, 2007 09:58 AM

Being one of the most committed Indian cricketer, the most successful bowler, biggest match winner, still a very humble, no start status genuine sports person and a true role model.
Let's give kudos to Humble Kumble's century!
