SPORTS SHOULD BE PLAYED FOR PLEASURE AND NOT MEDALS.
by samudra blr on Aug 10, 2007 07:30 AM  | Hide replies

Games and sports should become more enjoyable. In India we are of the perception that sports should be taken up only to win medals.
If you dont win medals/prizes it does not matter. You play for your own satisfaction. You improve your physical and mental health by playing sports/games.

Sports/games should be available in every colony/apartment complex/housing block/school/office/clubs etc.

People should reject unnecessary use of vehicles and take up walking/cycling as much as they can.

India is playing for pleasure only for years and hence not winning any medals in olympics barring few exceptions.

Hello. Who says our players are playing for COuntry India. Our players just reperesent BCCI which is a Private board controlled by elected members from various associations. They don't reperesent India they represent Board. In that case West Indies should be a Country ...which is not a fact. England should be a country which is not a fact. England is just a part of country called United kingdom. West Indies team is made up of countries from many countries from Carrebean islands playing together.

No one seems to understand this point.

BCCI team is not equal to Indian Cricket Team. Even our country PM/Prez has no say in this. It is not endorsed by Govt of India.

It was funny when Indian Parliament passed law to telecast Cricket match free on Doordarshan for patriotic reasons

Search in google.

Once when a bcci prez was questioned in court whether BCCI team is a Indian cricket team, the answer the prez gave was "No, its a BCCI team and they do not represent India team in any nature"

When we say indian hockey team, its a national team coz it is under the ministry of sports, but this bcci does not come under the ministry of sport.

When questioned in court they agree that their BCCI team is not official Indian Team. when they are asked some similar question, they talk of national side, indian team, etc..,

BCCI is a controlling body for sport of criciket in india & is governed by the law of the land. So ultimately it represents India in the sprot of cricket.

Does starring in one sports linked movie make SRK a sportsman? I donno whether to laugh or get irritated by his comments.
Let SRK ignore incidents when somebody spits on him or throws eggs at his shows.

"I am a true sportsman, so I can't just say one country should win. Whichever country plays better should win. It would be most wonderful if India wins,"

Being an Indian, you can say India should win!Considering atest series win is pending for ages in England!

YOU Don't need to score points for forthcoming movie in London. Only Indians and other Sub continents people will watch your movie.

You are not a commentator or Media person to not to take stands , YOU ARE AN INDIAN Actor and you can support India openly!

Pakistan in big mess
by Shankar Panday on Aug 09, 2007 11:57 PM

Threatened by US with an impending direct assault in the Frontier region for Jihadies, Pak generals are now in full action..looks like all out war in that area now. Pak is practically under Emergency now, and should Pak army fail or switch sides which is most likely, an US invasion of the subcontinent is probable. Inept Indian leaders at partition like Nehru & Gaandhi who succumbed to Islamic pressure had let the subcontinent turn into this mess which only Islam can create.
