both of you are typical illeterate flashy superficial garrulus cheap deepth less corrupt psychophant officious obsequious maha......rian.
I think this is going to be a circus.. ICL is just money wasting exercise.. or is it just converting black money into white to save tax? Instead of offering veterans so much; they should actually invest in making facilities for youngsters..playing a 20-20 with veterans is useless..it wont bring talent that can compete in international test cricket..they need proper investment and play like the challenger series they play between india, ind A and ind B..something like that will show talent..NOt lara, attapattu or retired warne, mcgrath etc..
The way ICL is signing all ageing cricketers, its really not understable what exactly is their motive?? They league is repeatedly saying that they want to promote cricket & give more opportunities to young cricketers by making them play with international cricketers & giving them more exposure to international level. But the question is how many young cricketers are going to join this league??? Because as already threatened by BCCI for the life ban on joining ICL, not a single upcoming cricketer would dare to joing ICL & its going to be only retired cricketer army !! Any upcoming, young cricketer would definately love & have passion to play for his country & not join this league just to make money & spoil his whole internationl career..
I think ICL should make some adjustemnts with BCCI & ICC, to get some recognition. Otherwise its going to be only flop show, because BCCI is apex cricketing body in our country which ultimately is recognised by ICC. So, it definately makes sense for ICL to find out the mid-way to make BCCI (Official ??) happy !!!!

I agree to what Sujata said.. If players know playing for ICL will not allow them to play for India; who will play..Of course all the veteran internationals will join ICL for the money...but the youngsters will have no future then why should they join.. This is not a way to promote talent..They should make a deal with BCCI to consider ICL as a seperate league and players should have freedom to play wherever they want; just like county cricket..

On ICL's website, you will be able to read that ICL will start with 6 teams competing against each other. This will be later raised to 16 teams. Each team will comprise of 8 budding cricketers, 4 International cricketers and 2 Indian cricketers. This totals to the squad of 14. Until now, Brian Lara is the only officially signed international player for ICL. Since there will be 6 teams for the start, ICL needs 6 teams * 4 International cricketers per team = 24 players to be employed. So my friend, there are many more to come.
And regarding budding cricketers, there are thousands of cricketers in India who are talented enough to join the Indian national team but do not make it due to politics and excessive competition. So, i doubt there will be a problem finding talent.
I support the ICL and i think once it's all set up and starts making money, BCCI will have to recognise it.

But if the players who join the ICL know that they cant represent India throughout their life, whats the use in them playing for the ICL?
Only those who look at cricket as a profession to earn money will join it. But how many in India look at cricket as a profession. Almost everyone play it as a passion. They play it to represent their country at the highest level.
Lets see if the ICL can bring about a change in the BCCI's thinking. It all depends on how they start off and what impact they make.

I think its quite the opposite. cricket is being looked at as a profession to earn money, not only by players but everyone involved including the BCCI. so whats d harm in earning money by playing for ICL, there is no way in hell budding youngsters will get a chance to play for the national team, the old hogs refuse to give way inspite of weak performances n the BCCI is adamant in pushing mediocre performers into the team.
