Anil Khare
Sreesanth
by Anil Khare on Aug 07, 2007 01:35 AM

In order to justify inclusion of Powar, all this drama. Prasad should face Sreesanth's bowling one on one basis, and prove his point. He should be grateful to have a bowler of skills of Sreesanth. It will be stupid to drop this promising young fast bowler. India needs three fast bowlers, because their batting is sub standard, Kumble is almost spent up. Teams should be built on current level of competence rather than on basis of past records.

India's 2nd Test win
by Delip Viswanandan on Aug 06, 2007 03:05 AM

One for the Sachin bashers by Alan Donald. "Sachin is the best player I had the pleasure of playing against. He is phenomenal for what he's done for the game and his country.

"He's just a credit to cricket. I know he's been through a bad trot with injuries over the last couple of years but he looked his old self out there.

"I hope there's still a lot more cricket in Sachin because it's unbelievable how many years he's stuck it out and achieved what he has. I hope he goes past Brian Lara's record [of 11,953 runs] - he deserves it."

What about Andrew Nel???
by Developer New on Aug 04, 2007 01:04 PM  | Hide replies

I heard once that during a match between India and SA, sreesanth was fined for making fun of a tailender when sreesanth got him out.

But in the same match, the person Andrew Nel behaved in the most ruthless, racist manner crossing all levels of decency and 'lines'.

The result was as expected: Andrew Nel did not get any penalty but Sreesnath was fined.

Here is the racist attitude of the Match referee and umpires comes into picture.

There are different set of rules for different Teams

this is not true. andrew nel did not act in any bad manner. you are just being sensitive. Sreesanth is a bad sport who bowls beemers at people.

Ranadeb Da Bose has shown his merit.
There is something in him. He is quick can destroy England batting line up better than this Sree Santh.
SreeSanth is useless.
look what they have done to world best left hander Saurav da .

Sorry no room for emotions here. Saurav Ganguly deserved to be dropped from the team when he was thrown out. It is good that he is doing well since coming back. And of him being the best left hander in the world.... I am sure even saurav himself wouldnt think of himself in that way..... save that for the laras, haydens, gilchirists, flemmings, yuvrajs of the world...

Sree Santh is a fine player. His agression and "give-on-the-same-coin" attitude is laudable. Sree's hitting Andre Nel for a six and the subsequent dance on the pitch was really a beauty and people will not easily forget that incident. However, the incidents like what happened in the current match should be avoided. He should learn to convert his agression to playing well - do it in the cricketing way. The captain and bowling coach need to intervene this young player to cool him down and motivate him to concerntrate more to play cricket aggressive. The Australian way of agression does not suit our culture.
(However, it is a fact that Sree's Australian way of mental disintegration has worked well for Peterson as Srees beamer has affected his concentration to offer his wicket to RP Singh in the next over).
As Susobhan said, let's hope that he will accept the fine positively and this will motivate him to take more wickets in the next match.

On field outrages

Srishant has been fined for his rough behaviour. But why the English team has been let off when their Captain himself apologised for their misbehaviour with Zaheer Khan?Ranjan Mudugule and the ICC team are sleeping?Or they do not take action against non-asian teams?

The answer is simple, Mr. J. Sree did contact bodily with English player, which is a no-no-no!! English players did not do it right (along with culprit Zaheer for his aggresiveness, although much lesser degree), but thieir crime is far less than bodily contact in a game of Cricket.

ICC umpires never fined Glen Mcgrath, Andre Nel and Shaun Pollock when they physically abused batsman. It is always a subcontinent player, especially an Indian who gets fined most of the time.
All these anti-sreesanth guys must either be fools or mad people.....
All you guys who want too punish sreesanth for being aggresive should be sent to bat against england and see how their players treat indians!!!!!!!
