Dear Dunking, why are you hiding behind a pseudonym and pulling the legs of people who have a reason to feel proud?

Amateur Reporting

This report seems to be written by some amateur reporter, the use of English was very very poor. I hope rediff edits articles before posting them.

Could you please point out what the error is? Infact your language seems to be awkward. 'The use of English' is not correct .... it should be 'usage of English'. Your sentence tries to say passively 'use of English is poor and use of any other language would be better' Is it correct? One more error lies in your second sentence, it should be like this : I hope, rediff will edit the articles before posting them.

Palakkadan... A passive sentence is not ungrammatical. Using or not using passive sentences is a mere question of style. And further, a comma after "I hope" is optional. It is my humble suggestion to you: before trying to show your talents please understand the difference between the last sentence of Sudarshan and your own. Sudarshan is suspecting whether rediff edits the articles before it posts them or not (though he shouldn't have used the word 'hope' there). Your corrected sentence expects that rediff will edit the article in the future. Hence, strictly speaking, there is no continuity between the first sentence of Sudarshan and the second sentence that you have corrected.

Bengal player - Abhishek Jhunjhunwala
by Pankaj on Apr 15, 2007 05:02 PM  | Hide replies

From Article - Abhishek Jhunjhunwala also played a brief but crucial knock of 20 in 20 balls, hitting 4 fours and 1 six.

4 fours = 16 runs and
1 six = 06 runs
So total should be 22 runs...... :o

Will we be able to tap the available talent by conducting such tournaments?
by Kannan Kameswaran on Apr 15, 2007 04:34 PM  | Hide replies

It may not happen, because it will take quite some time for th eplayers to settle, but by that time, the tournament itself, might be over
