Dravid, though a great batsman, is not suited as opening batsman. He should keep this slot for Shewag rather than hogging. Of late his batting is not much great consequence either. If he comes in his usual position of no.3/4, will be better for the team and for him.
Even his captaincy has not proved his mettle...he lacks innovativeness apart from aggressiveness as required for modern cricket. After holding Australia at 119 for 6 wickets, how come he allowed them to cross 200, which may prove very costly for India at the end. While all bowlers were consistent, he persisted with Shewag and 3 overs of his cost enough worry for Indian batting,knowing its brittleness!
Dravid does not merit as a Captain ; he operates like a proxy one. If we really have to press our claim for the ensuing World Cup, it is high time, we find someone imaginative and gutsy as Ganguly was!

This is the right time for indian team management to stop practicals on the team.I feel Dravid is not a perfct choice for openor slot.He can play well when team is in trouble.Indian team need Dravid support much,so that he should come as first down or in second down.Stop giving too many chances to Shewag and Youraj Singh,since the reserved playesrs like Kaif,Powar,Pathan are in good form.Indian team should have Pathan in all matches till world cup.If Indian team management will think my points,we will be the WORLD CUP 2007 Winners.
It is a given away match, by west indies to put pressure on Australia. If you are not convinced after seeing Lara down bellow middle (NOT middle!) or if you think we are fool then we can buy it. Better concentrate on your batting and try to accept thing as it is. It makes you, at least a great personality. You have to prove yourself a lot to prove others wrong.
I am very big fan of Rahul Dravid, But in this series, performance of team is really pathetic, players look too demoralized. At this level we should not say that this is our first full game after 2 months...there should be any excuses, If India really want to win world cup then 1) Ist thing they should change the coach. 2) Try to build same team that has played previous World Cup. 3) Sourav should lead the team. I am watching world cups from 1992 properly. Team fo 2003 was most talented and has high Moral with Great Leader. Sourav may be little arrogant But take example of Imran Khan, people used say same about him BUT result Pakistan won the world cup under his leadership.

It was always nice to see our nation winning in any game at any stage. I am totally convenienced with him that our bowlers bowled so well but what about last match with west indies. The same bowlers today done well with west indies. This kind of chances can let you have a win over team like west indies. How the same is to be carried out in front of australia. If you wish india to win world cup then rather of betting just on luck start performing well and concentrate more on your weakness rather than just faith or special day. Unless you turn yourself with australian mentality, you can't be winner at big stages like finals. There is no excuse of team packed with batsman like dravid, dhoni, sahwag, yuraj and lot of many at a modest total of 170 only. This was our weakness so rather than just resting on your win, you guys should better work on it. If all nation just stops for a whole day just to see you guys then you all should perform well. I can accept one of you was having a single day poor but four of five of you with same poor day is not digestable. I hope you will learn something from this mistake and will come up as more strong team.
Thats a good excuse that you are playing after 2 month but, Autralia is also playing after longtime and without key players. Still they they manage to score scoring very good.
