Problem with ganguly is he himself has forgotten what he was.I m sure he still has the capacity to recollect and to prove, y dont you show that still you can play the best cricket u can show that at the lower levels What i dont think that age is the factor to retire as tendulkar ,dravid are still playing but the only thing is they haved proved them time to time.Cmon Tiger wake up!

where is the opportunity for Gangulay to retire ? He was being allowed umpteen chances to comeback as a contributing plyaer of the team. He remained a non-contributing captain to the team. Suddenly, the tree called Dalmiya , under which he was taking shelter was uprooted and was washed away in the winds of change. Now he has to find a foot hold for himself to be identified as an ex-cricketer.

Mr. Sudhir, some so called experts like you will always think negative about ganuly....

here is what you said

1."He was allowed umpteen chances" --> from where did you came accross this conclusion...last time he playes in pakistan he batted well (at least better than some players like Sehwag etc.) still he was thrown out.

there are people in the team --> Sehwag,Agarkar etc...who are in the team without any contribution..even what is the contribution of the newcomer Ramesh Powaer ? why is he in the team ?? on what performance criteria......???

better not talk about performance/contribution.....??

lets' face the fact : how much has Sachin contributed in last 2 years ? Still he is in the team without any question bcos he is a Mega star .....

2."He remained a non-contributing captain to the team" --> Don't just write some crap out of your hat...probably you have forgotten he is still the most successful captain of india..

He has won many One day matched for India on his performances compared to other senior cricketrs...He was instrumental in bringing up Harbhajan,Yuvraj,Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan....list is endless ....

contd....

How did u anticipate that indian team is going to fail miserably in tri nation series and champion trophy. Is it ur anticipation or estimation or ur desire. Doesn't it seem that u wish to fail the indian team in the absence of ganguly so that he can get another chance? I also feel that what happened to ganguly is not fair but wishing the failure of indian team just for the sake of one person is not expected by a indian ? Any single person can't be greater than team or country.

Akram's comments

I do not know why people are after Ganguly...? What has he done against them? Is trying to get something is not justified? We may die the day we starts thinking that we are useless. One should always try hard no matter what he gets in return. Like in Gita...they preach........Karmanye ... ma falesu kadachana. Let Ganguly try.........what is the harm in it. I am 100% sure he will be back as the Indian team is going to fare miserably in the tri nation cup and the subsequent champions trophy. If you can't do anything good for him do not destroy his will to do something. I hope Akram and people like him do understand. I wish Ganguly all the best for the new season ahead.

it is well understood that ganguly has set a goal of returning to Indian team without doing swot analysis.why don't he think in national interest and give up his idea of returning to Indian team.he should realise that he is no longer a force to reckon with.there are very good youngsters who are assets to the team with their athletic fielding.if ganguly will be selected he may brainwash youngsters and it is highly injurious for the team.if selection commitee changes if he gets chance to play for India then it will be a step backwards.

Why should Saurabh brainwash youngsters? He can come back to the indian team but he has to show by means of runs. He can't expect any support from any quarter. His bat should speak. He has the capabilities but sooner his bat start talking, it is better, otherwise he should retire gracefully.

I disagree.

Let the Man live in peace and take his own decisions.IMHO its this extreme mentality of the common man which is easily taken for a ride by "Media".A Single Email changed his life.Forgetting the factoids what he did for india, lets keep 'em aside, its just that you need to sit n think how you wud react / decide when you are in his shoes.would you quit ?

So simple for you and akram to decide that he sud retire contrarily when he strongly feels that he stands a chance.I would say treat him as a newcomer and if he "prooves" his worth take him or else dont make an issue out of it, for god sake.
