Agarkar ruled out due to injury
by El Dorado on Oct 28, 2006 12:25 AM

Actually, he should've been "ruled out" long before. In spite of many chances, he has never proved to be a match winner (forget about it, he couldn't even bowl or bat properly). He was initially termed as prospective all rounder. Let him atleast learn how to bowl. Same is with Irfan Pathan. He should be "ruled out" too with injury.

Stop politics in sports and make a fair selection.

Poor Planning
by Dennise Mathew on Oct 28, 2006 12:03 AM

I don't understand why Shewag can't be rested for a while even after lot of failures (R Dravid really finds difficult to deal with shewag matter at the press conf.)when we hav lot of options like Badrinath,R Uttappa and many other youngsters awaiting for a chance and if the team management is somuch concerned about 2007WC,I think with the experimentation done at every series,we can experiment some new members also. There is no doubt in anyones class performance but long waiting for that is too frustrating for the Indian Team Fans. Even Tendulkar(Who don't think need a match practise to play a game) can be rested in alternate games giving chances to Kaif, venugopal and others... This would boost the confidence of the new comers.India expects Dhoni to fire daily, why big expectation.Only because of this Dinesh kartik who is in fine nick doesn't find a place in the team.I think Indian team must stop depending toomuch on each person and understand that we have a long queue with talent waiting...(Johnson,Australian bowler who balled out india was given air ticket the next day.if that is the case in India,he would hav booked his place in the team for 2 yrs, like Bajji,gr8 balling in 2001

It would be a real test of character for the Indians against the Aussies. All the Best India. Do the fans proud!!!!!!!!
by Bhaskar S Nair on Oct 27, 2006 10:16 PM

The recent performances from the men in blue is a real cause for concern. Their batting look really unstable. If this so-called fantastic batting-lineup is not able to withstand pressure against West Inidies (which had only 2 specialist bowlers in Gerome Taylor and Ian Bradshaw) then nothing can be expected from them against Australia. The batting has failed to perform even in India. It was not long ago Indian's had 75% win ratio playing at home. Now it has come down to even less than 50%. Their fragile batting order needs to get a look in. It would be a real test of their character against the Australians. Australians are known to up their tempo in crucial encounters and demolish their opponents. Rahul Dravid has recently admitted that Indians are trying to adjust to slow conditions (which are the natural conditions they have been brought up in). But we can see what they can come up with against Australia in a fastish Mohali pitch. Whatever the plight Indians are in we(fans) are always with them.

All the Best India
(Please take care of the Pride of Indian fans) We still are reposing our faith in this "Fantastic Batting Line-up"

Inconsistent Performance by the 'MEN IN BLUE'
by Bhaskar S Nair on Oct 27, 2006 10:01 PM

It was not long ago when the men in blue chased world record number of matches successfully. That was the time when the new formation was just started and experimentation worked successfully. Now it is almost a year and it's time to stop them. The team management is at the moment trying too many things and have got them confused at the moment. We can spot few changes in the team (that of Sehwag who hasn't heard what even 20 runs are all about) then Suresh Raina (who has been always trying to waste all of his starts) and Ajit Agarkar (fortunately got injured). Now it's time that we have a permanent batting order (flexible only if required depending upon the circumstances). Almost all the members seems to be confused with their roles in the team. They have forgotten to develop partnerships wherever they bat. The team management really will have to think deeper especially in the case of using 5 specialist bowlers in Indian conditions. If 4 can't do the job how 5 bowlers can and at the same time their batting looks woeful.
Solution :
1. Get Robin Uthappa to open with Sachin.
2. Let Rahul bat at NO.3 postion
3. Use 4 bowlers and make Yuvraj and Sachin share the quota of 10 overs

sreesanth gets justice
by gopal on Oct 27, 2006 08:29 PM

players like R.P Singh is not good enough to handle heat of champions trophy, wat about agarkar a nervous bowler............
leading wicket taker of india in ODI but does not know how to bowl in solg overs, forget that ,he bowls wides, too short ,juicey full tosses, off targeted, in my opinion he was never a good bowler,as he bowls 4 bad deliveries out of 6.lets come to sreesanth what a bowler, full of confidence, above all challenging the likes of g8 batsman outside the off stump,he bowled superbly in recent series against W.I,but the poor guy was denied a ticket for ICC cham.trophy .shear unjust.
but india needs him badly ,as they hav paid the price
for not playing him.now if ICC allows replacement of agarkar then he will make india shine against aussies
in the bouncy pith of mohali on 29 oct.
finally ,his talent and hard work will get justice . i am happy........to know that at last he gets a chance
best of luck seesanth ,best of luck india.
