Rahul: Decisions of a Captain
by Girish on Oct 28, 2006 04:11 PM

Rahul you need to use your powers as a capain of Indian Team. You need to rebuild Team India. You can take some tips from Saurav, every person learns at every sage of life.
You have to take players like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Raina, Irfaan & Dhoni to task for their take-for-granted attitude.
Dhoni and Raina had no business scoring just 31 runs between overs 31-41. They could have atleast rotated strike.
Irfaan needs to stop bowling at 120-125km/hr. He has lost his swing to be effective at that pace.
Yuvraj manages to get starts but is unable to build a substantial innings.
Sehwag has to be given more resposibilities as a Vice Captain!!! He has to start giving India those blasting starts and be more active with on feild decisions. It has been long since India has taken the advantage of power play.
You point out postives after every match but what good is it when we dont win much.
Give every player a fixed position and a fixed role to play. It is no point in having "Jack of all Trades and Master of Non".
I think Sachin has o play role of a destructor against the Ausies on Sunday.
ABOVE ALL OU NEED TO TELL "GURU GREG" THAT HE IS A COACH AND NOT THE CAPTAIN!!!

We were 25-30 runs short

Hello Great Wall & Great Guru,
Statement is simply ridiculous, just to cover up the mess made by him, by dropping R. Power & continuous failure of Suresh Raina & Verendra Sehwag. You never win a Match, keep experimenting.

Ohhhhhhhh!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! India , Gayaaaaaa India
by Raj on Oct 28, 2006 01:07 AM

Well Done boys...
u deserve it.
go Grab your PEPSI's.

Maybe we need to bring some black magicians on the so called extra innings show to cast a spell on our opponents the next time around or we have to play every match on two different surfaces, flat batting pitch for our batsmen and brown dusty surfaces for our opponents.
cheers!!!

Not Sure about our Team
by Prashanth on Oct 27, 2006 08:45 PM

Let me put it like this.

Why cant BCCI Ban the advertisments from these players.

*Last bowl from Agrakar was crap
*Run outs made me upset
*Not sure about our bowler problems...
*why cant we win more matches like earlier days!!
*What is the use of Viru ?
*what happened to doni\'s FIRE ?

Can any one answer to these questions.

I left my office and wasted my time seeing the cricket. There are ample number of fans does the same.

Hope these cricketers will bounce back soon.

Gudluk Indians for the next game againist AUSSI...

Thanks

The Dismal Performance
by Karthik on Oct 27, 2006 07:41 PM

Following are the key areas to look into :

1. If we have followed up the performance of the team closely we will see that the a couple of our players have consistantly not been performing. The like of Shewag, Raina, RP Singh. But these are the players who are repeatedly being given chances where as when it comes to Ganguly, hedoesnt get an opportunity. Nobody is questioning his exclusion, but the rules should be the same for everybody. Drop the non-pewrformers and let them perfrom and get back to the team.

2. Pathan chosen as a bowler and gambled as a batsman has become nothing with repeated low performances.

3. There is no logic behind selecting 4 fast bowlers in a sub-continent pitches when players like Gayle and jaysuriya are creating wonders with there moderate spin bowling, especially for the quality of pace bowlers India have.

Its time to set standard rules for selection and performers should advance. A player like Mike Hussey had to wait for 4 yrs. before he made it to the team whereas players like Raina, Patan and RP Singh need more domestic exposure before introduction to International Arena.

Bring back Kaif
by Meraj Ahmed on Oct 27, 2006 06:37 PM

Dravid, if your memory works fine, don't U remember that Kaif has scored 3 half centuries in 5 one day games against Westindies and now u are just asking him to sit down on the bench? Is there any shame left? Do U or the team management have any logical answer why he has been axed? What was his fault & then there is no shame on calling him for fielding to save those certain runs. Yet he comes on the field & fields like as if no injustice is being done to him. Dravid, don't spoil a team player like Kaif. He has never complained for being sent in at no. 7 throughout his career. On the last Sri Lankan tri series, he was sent at 1 down & and he was the best batsman of the tournament but his success could not be digested and he was again sent back to no. 7. Is Raina such a big player that he is being preferred over Kaif? May be because Kaif has no godfather. And there are so many who fails constantly but are playing without problem as if the Indian cricket is their own property. They'r being given bowling, batting everthing...so that they can click somewhere, whereas Kaif is just confined to batting without ever given a bowl, though he has taken many wickets in WC under-19.

chage the team
by DR.HIDAYATH HUSSAIN on Oct 27, 2006 06:36 PM

I think we played very poorly and the batting order needs to do some thinking.Sehwag,Raina has to be dropped and chance should be given to Gautam Gambhir and Mohd.Kaif.
Also Chappell has to do some thinking on team composition and team strategy. He should not take his coaching job for granted and also avoid constant shuffling of batting order and also take expert advice form senoir indian coaches

Bad team Selection
by Girish on Oct 27, 2006 05:53 PM

I think experimenting pathan always at no.3 is not a good option, Dravid should bat at no. 3 position. Also kaif needs to be there in place of raina, as he has had his cup of chances.....
