What hypocrites there are in the world of cricket, especially in the white dominated ICC .. Firat of all, what right do they have to frown upon invitations extended to Azhar by BCCI for a function orgnised by the BCCI to honour former Indian captains?? Can anyone take away Azhar's acomplishments on the cricket field, and as India's second most successful captain in history?? And if Herschelle Gibbs and Nicky Boje can continue to play for South Africa, and Hansie Cronje (may God rest his soul in peace), be considered good in South Africa, and people like Shane Warne and Mark Waugh can continue to be in the news in Australia, why should Azhar suffer?? Hasn't he suffered enough even though charges against him were never proved?? In fact, Azhar should be allowed to take the field one last time just so as to ensure his 100th test for the country .. In fact, I am sure he can still teach a thing or two to youngsters half his age or even less about fitness and matters pertaining to cricket .. As far as ICC's attitude goes, next they will be asking for Azhar's son(s) to be barred from playing for India or in even domestic tournaments in India .. BCCI: please take a tough stand with ICC!!!!!
Is ICC organizing the function ? What gives it the right to object? Gibbs can continue to play cricket after being banned for 6 months.. Mushtaq Ahmed can coach Pakistan .. But Azhar cannot even attend a Function!!! What is wrong with ICC? ICC continues to turn a blind eye when thugs tarnish the cricketing future of Zimbabwe but will make a fuss when BCCI invites one of its cricketing greats.
