BCCI is trying to correct its mistakes by honouring the classical batsmen in the world.he is the person who brought some additional charm to the Indian cricket after the legends like Kapil and Sunil had left the team.I feel he should be the part of BCCI and also play a role in the Indian cricket in the next world cup(not as a member of team).he should be honoured in a respectable manner.

Azhar should reject the award
by Mir on Oct 12, 2006 06:13 PM

This is response to sudheer message, it takes lot of courage to accept the mistake or sin you commit and azhar, crojne has that, thay did not came on TV to cry and get sympathy as kapil, nor azhar used his contacts like gavaskar and shastri, nor he lied like prabhakar and other players. moreover he did not give away the match or pride of the nation. he admitted what he did and that is courageous.
one should not forget that he was the most successfull captain and he was responsible for the revival of indian cricket.
please dont bring religion into sport as you hinted that is ridiculous on your part and shows your mentality. shame on people who think like you

Azaruddin is the secular gem of Indian cricket
Mohd Afzal is the secular tempo for parliament affairs
SAR Gilani is the secular angel for creating plots
Bin Laden is the secular monk and is the next prophet

No one ever doubted his class...thats why he was captian, and worshipped as hero for so long..But he is a dishonest, unethical person..and thats not the HEROS are supposed to be...If you feel symphathetic to him..let me tell you he still lives a five-star life..which you and I just can dream. He must pay the price for the disgraceful acts he committed and Millions of people he Seriously let down (I was a big fan of his..but I just cant stand him and his matches..which he might have paid for to lose). Lets be honest to call thief a theif..so that distinction between Good and Bad remains...and people get motivation to be Good!!

Azhar-the stylish of them all
by roshan on Oct 12, 2006 05:58 PM

Well,is there any batsmen current or past who can flick the ball from outside off-stump behind square.

Azhar did it too someone as fast as Allan Donald with ease.

He was and is the Most stylish batsmen of all times.

Sunil Gavaskar said "He is God's gift to Indian Cricket" when he made his debut.

I also agree with you that everyone comitts mistakes and even bin laden should be given a second chance. We should invite him and give him Padmashree, Bharath Rathna and all possible awards.... and if we kill one citizen, we should offer one more as we are following GANDHIRIRI

No man is perfect in this world! every one does mistakes in life... but it doesn't mean that he should not be given a second chance.....I think Azhar was the best batsman, best fielder and best captain of his time in Indian cricket.... he shud also be given a second chance.......and still no one has proved that he has fixed matches! he might have fixed, but he should be given a second chance....
