Bhajji is right
by Satish on Oct 07, 2006 10:55 PM

Bhajji has done nothing wrong and he deserves every penny he is earning. He has nowhere claimed to be a guardian of sikh religion so why make big fuss of it, and more over he genuinely sorry about the whole issue. COmparing bhajji with others is a stupidity and should be stopped immediatley.

Please do not make issue of religious things, it is extremely personal. As far as i know sikhism never dragged itself into unneccesary controversies and it's highest stature is because of it's sacrifices.BY doing all these jimmicks don't let the religion down.Harbajan already apologised and the matter ends there.

such a stupid discussion
by harpreet on Oct 07, 2006 07:28 PM

Religion is such a private thing. And how people use it for political issues. Its a shame to call oneselves a sikh when you are not ready to learn and then just want to follow a set of rules without knowing its spiritual meaning. SGPC or any political sikh institution will do the same, only sensitise the issue and try get some more popularity. And all that at the expense of poor harbhajan, just because he is popular and has been that on the basis of his hard work.

Harbhajan is money-minded. He can stoop to anything to earn money. No self-respect. No values. He should learn from the example of Sikandar (Alexander) that even a world-winner like him went empty handed. The prostitutes also earn big money. He knew everything before shooting for the liquor ad. But he also knew that just a simple apology to the Sikh Community will be enough for lakhs of rupees. And he has done the same in a well-planned manner. The way he is trimming his beard (just like shaving), he is going to cut his hair one day, to become a turbanator without a turban. But he will repent one day when he will be spitted upon by everyone in India. He should learn from the example of Azaharuddin, who has lost all respect in the whole world. Harbhajan will also face the same results.

To repent and save his future life from being ruined, he should start keeping long beard, and earn respect alll over the world.

The slogan 'It's my life' will ruin the world.

Does it mean that we dont have to follow any code of conduct?

Does it mean that anyone can marry his sister?

Does it mean that Hindus should start eating beef?

Does it mean that Muslims should start eating pork or start worshipping idols?

Does it mean that anyone can walk naked on the road?

Because 'It's my Life'

Dear Brother Sarabjeet,

Whilst your anger is justified we must also look at a few things:

1. A cricketers shelf life is limited and he can only make money while he is playing well. So i dont think he is stooping very low to earn money.
2. He is just 24 years old and made a mistake. He is apologetic and is publically saying sorry. I think thats a brave thing and he has kept his ego aside.

I feel we should look over the matter and let him concentrate on winning matches for the country. After all we are proud of his achievements aren't we?

What a foolish comment, does trimming beard and cutting your hairs make you less of a Sikh. These fanatics who do not understand the meaning of religion are the cause of all the major problems in the world.

I would like to ask such fools, do they really understand the meaning of their religion? Sikhism came from Hinduism and even today many families are following both religions by converting one of their son as Sikh.

Instead of wasting our time on such trivial issues we should be concentrating on developing ourselves, our communities, our city and our Nation.

First thing Gurbani says not to critsize others.

Can you explain is it necessary for a sikh to keep hair.
All the gurus were following a different tradition . It was only Guru Gobing Singh Ji who asked people to come forward and become KHALSA and keep long hair.He didnot says all sikh to keep long hair.
Because people were also sikh without hair when Guru Ji appealed for some people and those FIVE who came forward at Anandpur Sahib ji none of them was from Punjab , may be I am wrong .

Please throw some light .

Can you give some example from GURBANI about this.

Come on Sarabjeet,
Which world are you living in? He has apologised for what he has done, besides why should ne not be money-minded? Will you feed him after he retires from cricket at an age when you will be sitting pretty in your profession? Live in this world - please dont be pre-historic!!!

HI sarabjeet,

I agree with ur comments to very large extent. Bhajji is known as TURBNATOR, but i dont think he has wear turban in whole of his life. He is seen with Patka or cap in all of his photographs.

As a player there is no match to him and his bowl/bat abilities. He has won many matches for India on his own.
He is role model of many young cricket buddies.

Rest is in his own hands. how he showcase his image in public.

Why single out Harbajan? All Indian cricketers are money-minded.

Hi

Who is not money minded these days?!! Well, u cant neglect what he said... there are a lot of sikhs today who have trimmed their beard and cut down their hair. Then why r u so upset with harbhajan alone. Just bcoz he has practiced long hair till now and might cut it in future.

Why would the entire world spit on him when what he does has hardly anything to do with non sikhs. I do understand ur feelings, but one leads his life on his/her own terms. You can only suggest and guide him. When sania mirza is not abiding by Islam and still wearing the short skirts, do u think the entire world is spitting on her. Leave the world, just answer from ur perspective -- r u bothered abt what she is wearing.

Ofcourse, an individual represents his religion, family, and country. The community can only suggest what is right and wrong , u cant prevent the person from doing it. Its good for sikh community that harbhajan had apologized. What if harbhajan had not apologized, plz explain ur action??!!!!

And Sarbjeet Singh you are a narrow minded idiot.
Azharuddin sold the country.....for MONEY!!!

harbhajan accepts his mistake and bes pardon, the only thing he rightly mentioned if SGPC had an issue they should have called him..not create an issue thru the media...looks like SGPC is seeking publicity and/or exerting their power....least they forget...to Forgive is the real Power.

I heard that Harbhajan Singh went in the villages of Punjab to propagate 'De-addiction programmes'.

And see here, he is appearing in the 'Liqour Ad'

Has anyone to say anything to defend him.
