Let's terrify
by M L RAVI on Nov 30, 2006 05:40 PM

The WRITING IS ON "THE WALL",Dravid.Leading a TEAM of shiverers is to have shivers inside and he has it written all over his face each time he is communicating in public.Let there be no mistake - this Tour can sound the end of a couple of careers and that would mean two new stars can shine in the coming World Cup.
Let us believe that these dark moments will present us shining solutions, which will terrify the other Teams in the near Future.

Something's wrong with Allan
by uppu abhishek on Nov 30, 2006 05:07 PM

Hmm, Mr. Donald seems to have lost all the jobs other than writing for rediff.

I see that even if there is no need his columns keep coming every alternate day.

Sir, please stop thinking that SA is a genious team in comparision to India. We have atleast been to couple of finals in WC Cups and ICC. You guys could never enter beyond semis in any of those.

Even SA has a dismal record in India when they play in our locales.

Our guys would not have played good in last 1 year, but we a far far far better players of this game than the SA squad anytime would be.

Most importantly in last writing he says, laxman and dada are missing. Now he writes Raina and Mongia should not have been left aside. Oye Mr. Bewildered, you should think before you write a contradiction to your own sayings.

The Indian guys are in bad form but will roar again. Just be patient. Stop writing so rigorously. Save some words for your team also. Because you might fall short of words when you team faulters. We might win the test series (though its a question about taking risk in stating like this relying on our guys). Have your words in store about that situation.

Abhishek

Ganguly is needed to Indian team as a Captain than a player
by Prakash on Nov 30, 2006 04:47 PM

See DADA back in action every Indian feels happy.

But Everyone is looking him as successful captain than a Player. He can motivate the other players also and can bring some enthu and agressiveness in the team which is lacking now a days.

DADA has a good record as player and as well as captain. If he is selected as a player he cann't do justice to the team as he cann't innvolve all the matters with Coach and Captain regarding India's success in future.

So, My suggestion to BCCI, Pls Nominate Ganguly as a captain until next world cup...so that he can bring some happiness in India Cricket Team as well as to India.

Terrified???? My foot!
by Manjari on Nov 30, 2006 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

With all due respect to Allan Donald (one of my favourites), he still holds the Indian team in "high lights". Request him to convey to the indian team they are on the field to represent the country and not be terrified of pace bowling! And if they are sooo terrified, pack their bags and remain at home, cos that is where they belong. Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid, and all others PLEASE give someone else a chance to prove their mettle! There is no dearth of talented cricketers in this country.

Hey Manjari .....Instead of packing players back to Home....we can change the batting order..

1)Balaji(opener)Hard Hitter
2)Harbhajan(opener)Hard Hitter
3)Kumble(1 Down sticks to the crease)
4)Pathan(2 Down Pinch Hitter)
5)Dhoni(Wk Plays wll in depth overs)
6)Yuvraj(Left Hander plays well agst fast bwrs)
7)Dravid(Captain..He has to be there, because nobody is there to replace him)
8)Wasim Jaffer(Very Good Opener but better than Dinesh Mongia)
9)Sehwag(Good Bowler)
10)Tendulkar(Master Batsman Plays well in Sharjah)
11)Suresh Raina(Very Good Player can play at any position)

Still two players r missing in this Team.....Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel....They r great Wks....but fit for nothing,.......

Indian batsmen are terrified
by Naushad Naik on Nov 30, 2006 04:21 PM

At last someone could say the truth about Indian batsmen. None of the batsmen have the guts to face the ballers of South Aftrica, Australia and West Indians. They have lost the confidence due to lack of practice. They are busy socialising, modelling and everything else than practicing cricket. It is high time there is a ban on the sportsmen in India to do any sort of modelling assignments.

Lack of agression
by Vivek on Nov 30, 2006 04:19 PM

Team India basically lacks agression, you need to stand-up to fast bowling without the fear of getting hurt. The batsman's objective should be to demoralise the bowler, this was the great Sir Vivian Richard's philosophy. The other part of the problem is quality of wickets in India, slow tracks are absolutely of no help. A morale boosting series against a weaker opposition such as Zimbabe may help them get out of the slump.
