Ganguly can add another 10 runs
by MSR on Nov 30, 2006 09:48 AM

Ganguly is going to just add another 10 runs to the total in test matches as he is a completely sorted out player in the test arena. He probably has some cricket left in one-day games!

Hoping for an unbiased and professional selection of cricketeers
by Varun Sujith on Nov 30, 2006 01:48 AM

India's dismal performance at South Africa has definitely come as a blessing to Ganguly. It certainly cannot be taken for granted that he will make it to the squad until the final decision has been declared by the selection commitee on Thursday. Amidst widespread criticism on the Indian performance, it is worthwhile to see if under performers like Khaif, Agarkar, Karthik etc.. still make it to the National squad for the test matches against SA and also in any of the other forthcoming series.

congratulations to VVS Laxman and Saurav Ganguli
by TLR MOHAN on Nov 30, 2006 12:15 AM

Dear Mr Vengasarkar,

Though it is a late decission in picking the experienced players like Ganguli and VVS Laxman, it is good to see them back in the squad, which will deffinetely motivate the team members. Both are assets to the team INDIA. Think maturedly in including both the seniors in WORLD CUP which is a head soon.

regards

Where is Mr.Robin Uttappa
by Yogi on Nov 29, 2006 10:09 PM

Hi,
I Just wonder where is Robin Uttappa and Balaji, even after so many failures at the top and middle order, why are they not picking up the person in form?? If solidity in top/middle order why not Uttappa/Gambhir...why karthik??
Let robin/gambhir play in the shadows of sachins, sehwags, dravids and tune their technique
Can selectors think about this team??
Sachin,Robin/Gambhir,Sehwag/Yuvraj,Dravid,Ganguly/lakshman,Kaif/Raina,
Dhoni,Bajji,Irfan,Zaheer/Munaf,Kumble/you ng leggie.

Since Yuvi is ruled out, Sehwag gets a oppurtunity to improve...but always will be in race with Yuvi...

Come on Indian Blue Boys ...We are fed up of hearing players will go out of form...

By being a close watcher and player of cricket, i feel it just needs GUTS to stay in the middle for few mins/hrs...then automatically u get your rythm back...

Lage Raho India...Dhikah dho...

We love Cricket...

Bring back experience.
by Frank Cherian on Nov 29, 2006 09:38 PM

Good to know the Cricket Selectors are seriously considering the reintroduction of experience into the test side. VVS Laxman and Ganguly would certainly bolster the upper and middle order batting lineup. Gambhir might be another player to be given consideration as a potential opener. In terms of bowling....rest Irfan and Agarker. Sreesanth has been very economical and bowls with fire and zeal. Not sure what Balaji has been doing but he can certainly bring some experience back to the side. Kumble is always a tremendous asset as he is able to move the ball much quicker through the air as a spinner and keeps the batsmen guessing....his major drawback is fielding. Hope things go better for us in the upcoming tests.

Looks like Ganguly has already been told that he is in the team, That's why he has already resigned from the Bengal Captaincy. Ummm, goes to see how much Politics influences cricket in India. Well, tomorrow afternoon by 12pm we will all know whether there is smile or tears in Ganguly's Eyes. Watch out for my comments.....

Suicidial step

Bringing back Ganguly for test would be a regressive test.I n the best of times, he was not very convincing in S.Africa soil. Now he is not exactly in form. Tendulkar, Sehwag is out of form and u add Ganguly into the team. Indian team would be in ruins and Dravid will be a wreck and may never recover. Instead, one can rely on players in form like Badrinath, Gambhir, Akash Chopra
