Akram's criticism
by Hemant on Nov 29, 2006 05:57 PM

As told by many of our readers, Akram is bang on target like his lethal bowling!I have written earlier also, that why Sachin is not playing like Sachin! He does not need anybody's advice. He should take the attack to the opposition's court, like Lara.Probably, we need to put a slogan like: Sachin ala re.. with a good tune to generate his concentration.Just concentrate,Sachin and the result will be fantastic.
Regarding Pathan, I would invite Akram to go forward and give him the tips like a big brother. Afterall, Akram is also a pathan and should not mind about aboy's behaviour! Please guide them Akram, and thank you for your wonderful comments!

Well said

Everything that Wasim Akram said is correct and I guess it is high time that BCCI also realise this when they are making their selections for the tour. With the huge amount of experience that Ganguly and Laxman have behind their back it would have made a huge difference to our side.It is high time now that Mr Greg Chappel stops experimenting and it is better we stick to the basics now.We are failing in all the departments now and i guess we should start right from the top and take advantage of the power play's and i guess Sachin should lead from the top.Mr Akram rightly said that he has acheived everything now and at this stage he should be over the top of the bowlers rather than defending and waiting for the loose balls to be hit. This strategy releases pressure of the bowlers and makes them feel they can get him. Also inclusion of Ganguly would give a extra edge at the top with a right and left hand combination. And laxman and dravid to come next will strenghten our middle order.
It was a nice gesture by Mr Akram to have asked Pathan to come and talk to him and i think he should grab this oppurtunity to get tips from a man who has troubled almost all the top level batsmen.Thnks Akram

Yah he is correct!
by seetharam on Nov 29, 2006 03:25 PM

I just totally agree with Akram. Sachin has to change his batting style to the way he was in the past.Particularly with Pakistan in the world cup and as with Australians in 1998. the second this is our selectors should open eyes and should try to give the best test team. I strongly suggest to include Ganguly and Lakshman. this is time to end the experiments and e have lost every thing that we can.
It is better for Irphan to concentrate on bowling and he should keep in his mind that he is a bowler who can bat a little. He cannot become Kallis over night by hitting half centuries. This applies to other bowlers too. Aay way we lost almost half and should take care that we don't loose any thing more. Chappel should put his out dated plans aside and work for the team.

The Final Diagnosis
by nihaaal on Nov 29, 2006 02:32 PM

Akram should be the bowling coach of India.
Rem when he was advising Pathan,he was good then,he became a strike bowler.
Alas now we have no one to call for such repute.
The body language of the team is solely becoz Rahul is not aggressive enough like Ganguly.
Whne Ganguly was captain he was constantly behind ur back and wud show his disapproval. The team members could be playing to please him.He bought out the tiger in us by playing so.
Give him another turn, bring laxman On,and blood Gambhir and Uthappa who shoe soem aggression.Let sehwag and tendulkar sit out the next two matches and sort their technique mentally.
Kaif and Raina ..aggression,
Mongia and Kasthick start giving the above guys creeps by performing consistently.
bowling..if sreeshanth could maintain his aggression with bowling intelligently ,and Munaf be believing in himself,we can make some change.
Kumbleis reliable all year and bhajji needs soem mental framework to give the ball air, draw the batsmen out and not just fox with the doosra which is wel sorted out now by every one.
fielding is manadatory fowith Rs 1000 earned for evry run saved!Rs 10,000 for every 4 saved and 25,000 for every run out involved!

Akram's view on Indian players in SA
by Sai on Nov 29, 2006 01:54 PM

Sachin should play his shots, Munaf/Agarkar, Ganguly and Laxman should be back in the squad. All these points made by Akram is correct.

Sachin should play his normal game. Munaf should be given more opportunities in domestic matches. Agarkar should be dropped I think he can retire from cricket at any level. India should have a bowling coach only he can fine tune the bowling action as in case of Pathan.

Ganguly at any cost should be back in the playing 11.

Akram Critices India
by UTKARSH AGGARWAL on Nov 29, 2006 01:37 PM

I Believe Indian Team has lost the momentom they are lacking confidence, and attacking cricket.wasim is on the target he is right that senior player like sachin ,dravid should have played solid innings to overcome the situation ,inwhich they are.Ganguly is an aggressive player he should be back to the team so that you have a batsman with aggression and lot of experience as well .as far as bowling is concern bowlers should do full length bowling with bouncers and yorkers .Now 2 ODI's left india will have do something so save little bit pride of there country .

Best Wishes to Indian Team.
