Lalu's remark on Chappel
by Azhar on Nov 28, 2006 07:50 PM

This is actually in reply to Mr. Sidh's message. Actaully I would not commented anything...
Firstly I agree with Sid's that politician's and Cricket's are separate and should maintain there business. But one should not forget , a sportsmen can also be a politician and vice versa. And also everyone has rights to comment on others affair otherwise you also dont have any right to comment on Mr. Chief minister Lalu since you are not politician so you do your work and let him do his work but since everyone of us is involved so everyone has full rights to criticise or comment on others. As far has Lalu as a minister is concerned, I think he has done really well as a railway minister or leader of such a big and important unit of India so otherwise IIM's will not invite Lalu to throw some lights on his leadership style. So better don comment if you dont have complete information. As far as Chappel is concerned, I will say , in the what matters is result. If could not instil postivity in Indian team then we could have had an Indian coach may be with the same result. What I mean is we hired him to get better out of him for our players, may be technically. He was not here only for experiments.

Chappel not to comment
by Hemant on Nov 28, 2006 10:33 AM  | Hide replies

Yes,it is good to keep his mouth shut.We don't know exactly what he commented for the MP's,and how much the media distorted that, still it is better not to comment. And what comment can he make after a team loses from a position of 76/6 of the opponent! Is that a world record for Greg Chappel?May be our able scorers can investigate!Being a coach, it is the primary job to insprire the players. And guiding captain in taking right decisions. Some simple questions: why Agarkar was given the new ball with Zaheer and why he was not changed even after being hit repeatedly?Could you not take Sreeshant in place of Agarkar!Hats off to Dinesh Karthik. He had shown the courage of going to the front foot even with his limitations.Last Question: Why they have not given you any responsible position so far to coach in Australia, Mr.Chappel? Is it that, you are building your career at the expense of Indian cricket!

Well well. I think most of you dont see television news right?? It is all on Camera Guys. It is all on camera.

As far as Lalu and Bihar goes. I have no comments to offer, but Lalu and Railways have definately done wonders. If you dont know browse through rediff archives, you will find that this guy turned the Railways into a profit making outfit. So please, Please get your GK right before you comment on such things.

Personally about Chappell, he sucks. He has no right to comment on our politicians however right he may be. He should know inspite of being Indian coach, his job is cricket and he is accountable to anybody and everybody if he cant produce results.

Browse through Australian Cricket sites and check his coaching records. Indian Coaching Record is all in front of us.
So when we can see why comment on that.

Politicians have no right to comment on sports
by Sid on Nov 28, 2006 03:06 AM

Lalu Prasad yadav says Chappel and Indian team are not doing well...
Mr. Yadav.. did you ever do your job as a minister or chief minister? If you did, we would be seeing a better Bihar state and better Railways... Do your job sincerely, before you can throw scum on somebody else. As a matter of fact no politician has the right to critisise sportsmen! At least, sportsmen put in an effort, unlike you idiots!

Dear politicians, you please worry about improving the nation and let others worry about sports! Let us all together make India a better nation, by our respective contributions in our fields of expertise.

Cant help it
by Cricketer on Nov 27, 2006 08:19 PM

In a nation of 100+ Crore population, where cricket is considered as a second religion, if we cannot develop 16 top order players...we should rethink to consider cricket as our second religion...Everyone has to say something or the other when we lose to any team..but its a pity no one can do anything except the playing 11 on the field..Cricket cant be player with just ball and bat..it has to be played with a mental presence with a spirit of sports..teams do under perform..but a re-evaluation has to be done by the players themselves..Have a look at the WI team and how they have emerged from the crisis situation a few years back..it not their coach, not their management..its the players who have done that..and blaming anyone wont help..which sadly happens only in India..

Drop Sehwag, Tendulkar
by sam on Nov 27, 2006 05:10 PM

Simply drop Sehwag, Tendulkar, Kaif and Agarkar from the team. Cricket fans like me want to see that. Let youngsters learn by playing on the fast and bouncy pitches in South Africa. Just because a few players have great records do not mean they should always play. Simply drop those players who do not play well.
