India needs Laxman

Colonel Vengsarkar,
I can't but thank you for bringing in Kumble first, then Zaheer and now Laxman! It will strengthen out team. These are the experienced players as told by our ex-players and also by Allan Donald! Now get Ganguly back to the team.Nothing is too late!we have to salvage our pride lost in the mindless experimentation by some people.A solid middle order in batting will change the picture totally as is now.But we have taken lot of time in bringing in these players for whom we were shouting from day one. Also the solid game of laxman will inspire our juniors on how to play at the fast pitches!Good luck, Colonel!

Laxman is a genious to be ingnored like this

I will be always the 1st in the list to cry for laxman's inclusion in the so called team India. Arey, he is the magician who won us the test after we were following on against so called powerful ausis.

He can play these pitches better than others. He is a wristy player and that makes fielders tougher to concentrate on the strokes. Dive maarke bhi nahi pakad paayenge baap

Laxman in ODI Team
by Rituraj Kumar on Nov 27, 2006 04:15 PM

VVS Laxman, on the basis of his temperament, technique and talent would find a prominent place in any international ODI team. But not in India. That appears to be quite strange and defies all logic.

Why he still finds himself out of the ODI squad is not because of fitness or because of his unsuitability to this form of cricket. Rather, it is because the ubiquitious Greg Chappel has strong reservations about him.

Further, he is largely an apolitical man who is not a part of any lobby. Therefore, he finds no one who could strongly back his claim to be in the team.

That's really a sorry state of affairs and that also explains the current plight of the Indian ODI team.

I think laxman should not accept any call from BCCI either for one dayer/Tests because they will call him/ask him to save matches/win matches and Kick out after it is over. Better make massive changes in BCCI/close down BCCI
