Poor Shastri. He would not find a place in current indian squad even as a 30th man.

yes it is a 180 degree turn
by sensible007 on Nov 27, 2006 02:17 PM

Sir,
You pointed it out rightly........we should tell this guy Ravi Shastri to shut his mouth up and concentrate on the job he is getting paid for(the commentry).

There are other gr8 guys like Mohinder Amarnath,Gavaskar,Kapil,Madanlal,Azhar, and even Ganguly....the question is well Mr Shastri were you committed at all when you was a cricketer??....how many matches have you won for your own country?...I can still remind your step out defensive shots in '87 world cup semifinal...yes you wanted to loose the match ...to avoid playing final in Eden Gardens....u cheater being an opener used to make 25 odd runs wasting 67 deliveries....and make sure the required run rate is so high that other batsman won't be able to win the match...I am talking about 91 world cup ....plz remember...

You are talking about Gambhir???...how many runs Gambhir has scored in his last 3 domestic innings???....do you know how many chances Gambhir has already been given..he has played total 16 matches and his average is just 25.56.....

One more thing...before criticising someone as a bad fielder....see ur own video...and before asking question about commitments you ask urself.

Shastri's commitments

i totally agree with hemant and titanic.

ravi shastri should shut up and give up his associations with indian cricket.

i do not know why he calls himself former indian captain. how many matches did he captained for india?

he is absolute nonsense and plays politics.

it was he who started the anti-ganguly campaign.

he was successful but at the cost of the country.

look where we have reached now.

shastri questions committment

The team is absolutely gutless and Dravid does not have a clue on what to do. Even when the chips are down, the captain cannot be folding his hands in despair. No other team will allow the opposition to score 200 runds for the loass of an unlucky run out when they are in a commanding position at 80 for 6.

"If they have to salvage anything from this tour the Indians will have to start showing some character or this is going to end in a disgrace. It was a gutless showing. I've never seen anything like this before," Shastri said"
Ha!Ha!Ha!1 Mr.Shastri, I wonder what Batsman you were sometime back, especially in the fag end of your career. Here was this guy who used to waste the complete over without even bothering to take a single. And now he comments on others. YAK

Shastri's commitments

Ravi,Do you think that the memory of our people is so short, that you can do a 180 deg.turnaround and save your face? No sir,it was you who had made all dirty tricks with your joker friend More to influence team selection!Don't believe me? Please ask Miandad who will tell you about More when he used to jump behind the stamps! And you were very much aware when the team was selected and lot of third rate cricketers were included! And now you are coming with an honest face and blaming it to the team selection!Shut up Ravi.We knew you when you were a cricketer and now as a commentator!Better hide your face along with your friend Kiran!

In questioning the commitment of the Indian cricketers. Can they not play 50 overs and then lose rather than losing right away. I expected Suresh Raina to watch his off stump and not poke any balls outside off stump. Guys, when things go wrong, in every profession, you slow down. Slow down so much to an extent that things will slowly start coming up. For example immediate goal for Sachin and Sehwag, bat 50 overs, same for Dravid. For others stay till the 50th over. Rotate strike and not take risk. THATS IT. If they follow this, they will win it.

before writing anything just correct your knowledge about cricket. In lat 10 ODIs Sachin is the highest scorer for India with an average of above 45. Just check and comment. What does Dravid do in team?

india's dismal performance
by sundararajan ganesan on Nov 24, 2006 11:03 PM

i share ravi shastri's ( sure, the anguish of millions of indian cricket fans) anguish over the spineless capitulation of our cricket team in the durban one dayer. like shastri, i too feel, gambhir, the elegant natural stroke maker should have been picked as the opener. of late, Kaif is not the Kaif , he used to be. why Kaif ?
what about sachin an shewag's indifferent and inconsistent performances. picking players based on their past performances won't do good for the team.
now dravid laments over the lack of bouncy pitches in india ( it is just like the lamentation of any indian hockey player over the lack of astro turf grounds in our country!) does he speak from his heart? a cursory glance would reveal the majority of the centuries made by the indian batsmen (mainly sachin and co.)were in the dead indian pitches, where the ball won't be bouncy. that is why, they are exposed in the bouncy pitches.
it is obvious, these dead pitches are deliberately kept so that batsmen will score runs which will be good for the sponsors ( and for the bookies too!) if the BCCI really wishes India to win, it is time for some serious soul-searching ; not for sentiments !
