The Ashes

If the performance of the first two days is any indication, it would be very difficult for England to win even a single test, leave alone retain the ashes. They may have to wait for the greats Mcgrath,Warne,Gilchrist,Langer and Hayden to retire and win back the ashes come summer 2008.

Ashes series in Australia
by Rajesh Vyas on Nov 24, 2006 01:40 PM

Sir: This is a much hyped series and a lot of hoopla is generated about the English team (PROBABLY BY THE ENGLISH PRESS). This English team notwithstanding Andrew Flintoff is an extremely overrated side. The Victory in England a couple of years ago was a big FLUKE.

This was further established by the ENGLISH team's performance in the ICC champions trophy and their recent record in all formats of the game.

This English side has absolutely no chance whatsoever of retaining the ASHES that was won by a chance. The Australian batsmen will send the English Bowling attack to the cleaners and McGrath and Company will destroy the weak English Batting.

Let us stop wasting our time trying to figure out the outcome of the series. The result is written on the walls for all and sundry to see.

At least, this series will bring down the English team and their supporters back to TERRA FIRMA!!!!
