I really appreciate the decision of the concerned authorities who have appointed him an umpire because I personally feel that Srinath is a very hardworking and a very serious man who takes every task seriously. For example when he was in Indian team, he was always very serious on the field and I do not remember even a single occasion when I saw him joking with any of his team mates or laughing or even smiling on the field.
A person like Srinath should be entrusted with such jobs as these jobs need lot of concentration, application, dedication etc., but at the same time I feel that he should have been assigned the task of coaching upcoming youngsters in the age group of 17 - 19 as he could have been a very good example for these youngsters who do not take their careers seriously n give up for silly reasons after achieving certain levels like state, or even higher.
I take pleasure in declaring that I always used to give Srinath's examples to my younger brother who played for Hyderabad and also to my trainees in the capacity of a coach.
I wish Srinath Best of luck and hope that he will soon become one of most popular umpires of the world from India.
