It is nice to read Ganguly's confidence to come back to the Indian team.It is no secret that Ganguly is one of our best battesman in both varieties of the game.We are lucky that he is still around and offering him for inclusion.Let us go back a few years when one of our greatest battesman of all times, Sunil Gavaskar had retired and situation became so frustrating that our BCCI requested Gavaskar to come back from his retirement and save Indian cricket.Gavaskar, like any sensible gentleman, did not agree.The situation now is opposite.When Sourav offers to play, he is not accepted ,in the pretext that he has to prove his form.The only player with whom BCCI had done this in the past is Mohinder Amarnath.Now when everybody starting from Sunil Gavaskar,Ajit Wadekar,Kapil Dev and others are pressing for Ganguly's come back, we wait with expectation for the return of the Maharaj of one day cricket!
