Mr.Donald

Seting and giving comments is very easy but lets analyse the fact. Everybody have two face both side of the coin.
In case of Ganguly it was not the way he played the game.
It was all about Attitude.
So Good he is out of the team, let the younger hands take control
we need to give them a chance and see.
One question?
Why you think of Lakshman or Ganguly only when Indian losses match..............................

Who should go out and come in to Indian Cricket team?
by raajappan on Nov 23, 2006 05:52 PM

It's not a coach like Greg chappel, but a captain like sourav ganguly is most needed for Indian cricket team.....A bowler should be aggressive like Sreesanth and should not be a chockolate hero........So,where are they?Who is keeping them away?Chappel,Dravid or some one else??Who ever it may be,I don't think he is not a well wisher of Indian team.Tell them to learn from Aussies, windies, SA ,Pakistan,Srilanka, kiwis etc....

chapper has a big role to play

sir, Indian players have talent/strength and know the game very well but most of them are self centered;playing only for money and fame. they hardly have any national interest. players are sleeping on the history. Mr.Chappell has to awake them from the fantasy. no body cares who got howmany centuries or broken records. we want to know who has helpped our country to win the matches.they are more intrested in seeing their phots in page 3 than on the sports page.

most of the senior players have GODFATHERS on various positions. these GODFATHERS hardly have any hands-on experience. most of them are like emty vessels, making more sounds.

But, we the sports lovers have to blame ourselves for such a mess. we have treted them as semi-Gods.
unless and unitll the flow of money stops, this pracatice will continue.

Let us start boycot all the products endorsed by the Indian cricket team right now for save the cricket...

bye

Well said Mr Allan Donald. Actually it is very easy to sit and find mistakes in others. We all know how good a batsman were you despite being a good bowler.

I think it is more to do with the money and luxury which makes India players laid back then lack of motivation. Indian have to mentally more determined to win and use their abilities to the best. And I dont think for this you need to do so many experiments that you kills upcoming players cricketing future. All we need a trend settlers like Azhar did for India in terms of fitness and fielding. We have now better fielders then we had in the past. Rahul has to lead from front and should fill its supporters with enthusiasm to win the game and proof the world they are no bad or a wrong choice. We don chappel for doing experiments...

Chappel have allready played a big role in spoiling Indian Crecket standard by his so called experimetation.Rich man is enjoing his life by making the country fool and also instrumental in throughing Ganguli out. For which Indian cricket have suffered heavely.

Ganguli is thrown ou as he was not performing as a player. Coach has clearly let the team down, he needs to go as well.

i dont belive in indian team
by aslam on Nov 19, 2006 12:31 PM

do you know what is the problem in the india team it is the stardom which each indiviual has, and they dont play as a team and if they play, ie., once in a decade. And tendular( the greatest batsmen in the history of indian criket in a finisher of the game after been played 300+ game of ODIs. players like shewag he never gave any good start in the last 40 odis then what is the need of keeping him in the team lets us show him the door and lets give a chance to dada( ganguly). Our Indian team opener batsmens should learn a lesson from srikanth who was an opener batsmen in early 80's and 90's.
And we always fail to keep pressure on opposition team. And our indian team blowers in the last world cup inspite of getting a good start were bowling a foolish length and the captain should be blamed for this. The captain should be in such a way that he should be able to place the field and he should exploite the blowers well and should shuffle the blowers, so that they can keep pressure on the batsman.
Have you ever seen Md.azharuddin how he shuffles the blowers and keeps pressure on the opposite team. And our indian bowlers they have never bowled a correct length in their life.

Al,
I read your observations with great interest. You are a cricketer whose image is permanantly posted in our memeory when we think of South African fast bowling. You have praised the action and delivery of our Sreesanth. Why not give him some tips to be more lethal in his action!Swing bowlers like Zaheer Khan and Pathan would definitely find it interesting to bowl in the sporting wickets of SA.The criticism for Greg is not to discourage him(in any case, he does not bother!),but to make him committed to the job of coaching our boys.Yes, he has to put that aggression in all of our players.I am sure Rahul is his very favourite desciple and will listen to him with rapt attention. On your comments that India very rarely did well outside India, please refresh your mind that it was in South Africa in 2003,where India were runners up in the world cup only behind Australia, under the able leadership of Sourav Ganguly. So how can you say they don't have any mental toughness! The Indians are a spirited lot, and in a day when things click, they can beat any side in the world!

Well said, Mr.Hemant. Indians need support and someone who can give tips to improve their bowling, batting or fielding. We want India to perform, not to forget their skills and become one liability to the team.

As it is correctly mentioned, why depending on Pathan for batting and bowling. Why call him an all rounder instead of our best bowler? Why to keep pressure on Sehwag and make him a laughing stock? Why to neglect the talent of our gifted players - Zaheer khan, Laxman, and so many upcoming young cricketers?

The aggressiveness Donald is talking about, don't we have that when we won the world cup in 83 and when we reached the world cup final in 2003?? We do have talent, what we need is some well guided tips and encouragement.

Does he think playing cricket is all about sledging?
by perl57 on Nov 17, 2006 11:53 PM  | Hide replies

.........like he used to do particularly when playing against India. The fact that McGrath and donald used to be in the same line. But Donald is a better bowler because he has variation. His weak point was, he is sreesanth like bowler who gets fused up the moment someone score of him. But he is a very shrewd cricketer who did not suffer much in the hands of any batsmen? Does it give a hint that he always backed out when bowling crucial overs or bowling to hard hitting batsmen? Yes it does. McGrath aint like that and hence is a good bowler. Who can forget how SA and Aus sledged against India. Remember that 1992 series vs Aus and subsequent one against SA? Dravid hit a six and this guy mouthed off a racist remark. And he is telling us that we need to be agressive? Indians are'nt finding the touch they had. All they need to do is go to the middle and keep playing the cricket and hope to hit the ball in the middle of the bat. Thats what dean jones did when he thought he would lose his place, NZ did to reach SF in WC. Aus did to become WC. Hopefully India will do to give a fight. I'm not really bothered if we will win the WC but a fight is requested. Especially others except rahul/sach

Being aggressive does not mean start sledging. Indian team that beat australia in 2001 was a gr8 example of an aggressive team (without sledging).
Aggression should be inside the players, they should believe that they can win no matter who the oppostion, what the situation.. Aussies or South Africans sledge, true, but thats taking aggression to an extreme. What really makes them aggressive is the unparalleled will and belief to win. Indian team as of now seems to be tooo timid, and not in a position to handle such ruthless aggression
