Sorry to know that you have hurt your knee. I hurt my knee too while I was playing Tennis in August. I tore my ACL, the most important Ligament in the knee.
Currently I am undergoing Physiotherapy and I am on Homeopathic medicines. My situation is that I am working in the US and there is no easy access to alternative therapy like Homeopathy and Ayurveda. I am going to be in India starting 20th Nov and I will also be going for Ayurvedic treatement.
Surgery at all costs should be avoided and give a chance to alternative therapy. I am not sure which ligament you have torn and the extent of damage, but it seems to be tough that you will be fully fit in 8 weeks. Alternative therapy is your best bet along with Physiotherapy/Yoga.
